9 spots left, how does the class finish up?

Gabe is playing Gabe. I'm tired of him honestly.

Apparently he's put on some bad weight recently too. He needs to stop worrying about where people think he's going and get back in the gym.

6 days ago from Every:

He has to use his hands to shed blocks and not allow offensive linemen to attach themselves. Wright has added some bad body weight so trimming down will only make him more explosive.

The "ok" thing was more directed to GT09. The guy who basically called him a Vol lock from his "sources".

But the above is also funny.

I still think he will be a Vol. If he goes to Auburn though I won't be surprised. He's playing the game well.

My sources are usually pretty good.

Gabe is most definitely playing the game. I think that it's 50/50 UT/Auburn myself. I think he will see the field faster at UT though.

Right on... I'm not gonna hate on you anymore (GT09). Bottom line is noone really knows, I'm sure you'll agree with that.

If we get him... cool I guess.

If we don't get him we'll get someone else. I'm just not a big fan of him saying "V,B" and "Vol For Life" if he doesn't mean it. That kind of stuff is annoying to me. Arnett also is a little shady in his recruitment but nothing like GW.

And I agree LV, I like Bell. I like Couch too but I don't know where we're at with him, do you? USC/Kansas? And my only thing with Johnson is his size. The pic with him + Russell Shepard is a little crazy to look at.

I will say this: watch out for USCjr D-line in 2 years if they keep Quarles and they get Clowney. That's a better 1-2 than anything we'll get this year on the D-line.

Yeah your right. No one never knows for sure besides the recruit. As I've been at Rivals though I've gathered some good sources working there but no one is ever 100% right

Yeah I know what you mean on those sayings. It's because they mean a lot more to you as you understand the true value of them as a fan of the UT program..

Yep. Not even really because it's my team. If he said "Seminole for life" and committed to Auburn it'd still be just as annoying to me. Like I said, he needs to worry more about getting better/stronger/faster and less about where everyone thinks he'll go. He's basically came straight out and said he lies to people about his favorites. He told UGA fans they have "nothing to worry about", he's told Pat Martin and Alan Posey he's a Vol 4 Life, and he's named Auburn his leader??? How does any of that make sense?

Then again, recruiting never really makes sense.

Unfortunately, this time next year Johnson will be a JUCO guy.

Most likely, yes.

Which goes back to the prior discussion of us over-signing. He'd be a great guy to take a commitment from and not have to use the scholly on IF he didn't make it in.

We need at least 2 more DTs in this class, though, that can provide some depth next season. It'll be interesting to see how that works out. I still think Clear sees time on OL after a short lived stint at TE (assuming we even get him).

I really think that Crump is going to be a sleeper. Austin Johnson has impressed the heck out of me thus far. It makes me wonder how much better he would be if he would have played MLB from the get go. Either way, Johnson is a football player. I am hoping that Christian Harris ends up a lot like him.

Because all white players= other white players. Christian Harris is an Outside Linebacker.

I think Richardson or Arnett will be the highest ranked player we get, depending on which service you believe in.

It seems like everyone's fairly well agreed we should split things like this:

WR: 2 (Arnett, Dallas)
OL: 2 (Richardson, Clear)
DT: 2 (two guys who we damn well better get qualified)
LB: 1 (Paul)
DB: 2 (who the hell knows?)

If we pull in 2 more DBs, I'd advocate for dropping Dixon and picking up the best guy we can find at any position with that 10th spot. If Buie chooses us, I'm good with that. If we can get a second DE or a fifth DT, I wouldn't complain. If we want to add an 11th spot in case someone doesn't qualify, I won't complain about that either. Obviously, if either Richardson or Clear look elsewhere (heaven forbid), then we may shift the 2nd OL somewhere else.

I'm obviously not in the group who thinks we need a second DE. I know we graduate 2, but we recruited 2 last year and didn't graduate any. So that's one position where we're actually ahead of the curve and are returning some decent depth. Adding Parker, we're already looking at having 2 SRs (Martin, Jackson), 1 JR (Bohannon), 2 SOs (Miller, Smith), and 1 FR (Parker) in the rotation. That'll hold us fine until the 2012 class.

FWIW, Eric MacLain would've likely been our highest ranked commit from Rivals had he not gotten his little feelings hurt and switched to Clemson.
