A few practice updates from last night and today (Practice #13 thread)

You think he will give Worley the nod since he's a Sr.. Surely not...

The word consistency leaks from CBJ's mouth every 5 words, so my guess is that he wants to see sustained levels of performance from Peterman before making the switch, not just a week full of practices worth, but that is just a guess, who knows.

I refuse to listen to his interviews and just skim the transcripts instead because it is 99 percent coach speak. He is one of the coach speakiest coach speakers around.
I do not disagree with you, he is a master at it. If we get tired of hearing it, imagine what the players think lol.

Something that no one seems to be talking about is the lack of push it sounds like our D line is getting and the overall sub-par play by the entire D so far... Butch was even getting on to them. Its the classic case of is our Offense that good or our Defense that bad? I know we are a ways off until the season, but I thought I would be hearing a little more noise from our D line at this point. Haven't heard much from Sawyers.... Our new O line must be coming together at light speed or we might be in trouble on the D line.

Both sides are a work in progress..

I was actually thinking it had been just the opposite up to this point. Did I miss something?

I think both of our lines are gonna be very suspect for at least 4 or 5 games into the season. It will probably be a little sickening at times with the deja vu thing but we just have to stay patient and it will come together.

:hi:.

I am starting to smell pigskin, thought I would venture over.

These cool mornings sure are amplifying it too. It's unseasonably cool here. Has me concerned for winter.

I think coach starts Worley. But let's peterman start the Florida game.

I guess I am just reading into today and all the TDs. I am by no means panicking and I know both sides are full of newbies and are works in progress, it just seems we are hearing more about the O line today (other than Barnett being a freak). Butch getting onto Berry and several plays of running it up the gut stood out to me today.

Butch has done more for us than anyone in the past 6 years. I don't care if his interviews are the same. He gets good recruits and the players love him.

Slow down Charlie, we aren't criticizing the guy. Just pointing out that the amount of info you can hope to glean from his interviews is a non-zero amount. Still think he "Gets it" and so on and so forth.

No you can't have the " B " back on your jersey yet .... I'm still calling you " erry" until you earn that B.

Alright people. Who here thinks this years OL will be AS GOOD or BETTER than last year?
I've seen several posters saying this and would like to see what others think.

We upgraded in nastiness and being the 2nd year for many of them should be a big difference.

We were a bad team that played from behind, had poor QB play, had a middle of the pack RB and still we managed to rack up a lot of yards rushing. I think it will be hard to be better than that o-line regardless of how many numb nuts post after me that they were overrated.

I truly believe this offense might surprise a lot of people. The skill we have will not require a stellar line. All we will need is decent play from them and I believe we'll get more than scent out of them. Crowder, Jackson, kerybson are pretty solid players.

My thought is the OL will be less "talented" but more effective due to being better suited for and having a better understanding of the offensive scheme.

Defense will make or break team 118, this is the SEC so buckle your chin strap it's a long season.
Go Vols

'Magine that. OL strugged.

Did you miss the part where Crowder was out and everyone else played an alternate position today? Think that and their collective youth could be the reason the OL struggled today?

Why do so many people jump to the negative right away?

This team is LIGHT YEARS ahead of last year's team. It'll be a struggle sometimes this season, but this team is being built the right way...from the ground up.

:) Be Happy
