A Possible Solution Presents Itself.

I don't think you'll have a problem with someone trying to "steal" Pastner. Parity is creeping into CUSA and he'll struggle to make the tournament.

Decent coach. Not a hot commodity, yet.

Hes gonna fly under the radar until he can prove himself. He should get that opportunity as early as next year. Some people forget the state of our program after Calipari left. He did a wonderful job last year just making us competitive and this years squad is playing the most freshman minutes in the NCAA. With some experience and the addition of Adonis Thomas, we should be better next year. If we can hold it together after that the 2012 could be ridiculous. However, things change quite fast in this sport.

Hat you have no knowledge or understanding of the college game. But you do a great job of pretending you do.

Good point. I need to follow the lead of the informed posters around here and celebrate the greatness of the SEC and tout the dominance of Jeronne Maymon.

LB being at 'Nova's practice also speaks to how respected Jay Wright is. When I was up there in October Mike Dunleavy was there as was Bobby Gonzalez.

LB would be a dream come true. He's the only coach to win both a NC and a NBA title. No one teaches better than him, if don't believe that just look at his coaching tree.

Ha Ha

Is funny because he does know about college basketball!

I wonder how LB and Jay Wright would match up head-to-head? Maybe one day we can get a coach that could beat the Jay Wright-types out there...

Ahh, what am I thinking here? We're Tennessee, no way we could get a coach like that...

Wade Houston beat Rick Pitino multiple times. He must have been great. Using snapshots as evidence is fun.

I would love to see poll results of college ADs and NBA scouts of who they would pick to coach their team - Wright or Pearl.

If for some reason, LB rejects that offer, and Kevin O'Neill doesn't like the idea of coming back to Tennessee, who do we go after/ who will come?

What does UT beating 'Nova have to do with the level of respect other coaches have for Jay Wright?

I guess 3 times constitutes as multiple even though all were in Knoxville.

You're right. Snapshots really aren't a good mechanism when assessing success. Career records should factor in. Winning 74% of your college games like LB is quite an accomplishment. If only there were a coach with an even higher winning percentage that would consider coaching at UT. Dreamers gotta dream...

Time out. Time out.

Are you somehow even remotely implying that Bruce Pearl is a better basketball coach than Larry Brown? Really? Really?

Surely you aren't talking about a guy who is barred from the arena for half the conference schedule because his D-1 winning % is not above 74%.

If you want to think Pearl is a top-10 college coach, I may not agree but it's at least debatable. But to even imply BP and LB are in the same level of atmosphere is beyond MHF ridiculousness.

Yeah, numbers run up in the trash heap league Milwaukee plays are comparable to those earned at UCLA and Kansas. Makes perfect sense. I would have thought you learned your lesson when you tried to put forth the idiotic idea that Pearl was on the same level as Bill Self. Apparently, you're attempting to top that one.

The results of that poll would make the '93 SEC Tournament game between UT and Kentucky look close by comparison.
