Are you trying to say a lineage of Doug Moe, Greg Popovich, Bill Self, RC Buford, Bob Hill, John Calipari, et al is more impressive than Tony Jones, Jason Shay, Steve Forbes, Scott Edgar, Matt Pancratz, and Aaron Green? That's crazy talk.LB would be a dream come true. He's the only coach to win both a NC and a NBA title. No one teaches better than him, if don't believe that just look at his coaching tree.

Yeah, numbers run up in the trash heap league Milwaukee plays are comparable to those earned at UCLA and Kansas. Makes perfect sense. I would have thought you learned your lesson when you tried to put forth the idiotic idea that Pearl was on the same level as Bill Self. Apparently, you're attempting to top that one.
Time out. Time out.
Are you somehow even remotely implying that Bruce Pearl is a better basketball coach than Larry Brown? Really? Really?
You're good. See, I haven't even mentioned Pearl's name, yet you know he beat JW this season and has a higher ncaa winning percentage than LB.
And to answer your question - LB and Pearl are completely different coaches. Each is successful in his own right. If LB were 20-30 years younger he would be a hot commodity again. But his age and nomadic style have brought his career to the point it is at now.
Yeah, it's really no different. That explains why it's been so easy for Stan Heath to replicate his Kent State success at Arkansas and South Florida. You should let the NBA and BCS league schools in on that secret. They can save millions hiring the guy who won the local elementary school league instead of someone who has been successful at the highest levels and demands a big payday.Winning with Milwaukee talent in their league is comparable to winning with UCLA or KU talent in the Pac10/Big 8.
Do you think Hamilton will be allowed to handle things that way, or is there any chance he's forced out before it? It would be really upsetting to see us get much harsher penalties in an attempt to keep Pearl, especially if he's getting fired anyways.Do I agree with it? Absolutely not
Do I think that's what Hamilton wants to do? Absolutely.
Do I think the 'AA will level penalties that leave Hamilton no choice but to make a change? Probably.
I think UT will have a good idea of what's coming by the end of the season. It's my opinion that all of the talk about keeping Pearl even if he's suspended for a year is PR happy talk. Hamilton has to know that you can't go almost two years without your head coach being on the road recruiting. If Tennessee is convinced after getting their letter from the 'AA that Pearl is facing a lengthy suspension, they'll start the process of cutting ties.Do you think Hamilton will be allowed to handle things that way, or is there any chance he's forced out before it? With the latest delay, aren't we looking at August as the time penalties would be announced? We'd probably be making a hire right before the season starts with worse sanctions, as opposed to making it shortly after this season with less punishment. Sounds brilliant.
Sounds good. I'd assume when trying to avoid punishments and hiring a quality coach, it's better to act sooner than later.I think UT will have a good idea of what's coming by the end of the season. Also, don't discount the possibility of Pearl resigning at the end of the year. If he does that, he shows the 'AA contrition and probably avoids any kind of show cause order because he's not a repeat major offender. It would also benefit him in the court of public perception. He could go do television for a year or two, then step back into the game with a much better job than what he'll get if he plays this out and UT has to fire him and the 'AA clobbers him.Sounds good. I was thinking about that as a possibility. I wasn't sure it was a good idea, but I started a thread about the possibility of him announcing his resignation during the season. Of course, that was based on the assumption that the uncertainty about Pearl's future was a factor in the team's poor performance. Also, don't discount the possibility of Pearl resigning at the end of the year. I think that's what UT and Pearl both have to figure out. If it is, there's no way he can stay. The 'AA will simply place restrictions on him that make it impossible for the program to function. Since Tark killed them in court and set the precedent that they can't really say "Fire your coach", they simply do by indirect means what they can't achieve directly. Is the show cause order in play here Hat?
