A Racist Take On Our New Coach

so what you are saying is you dont' have a single piece of evidence to back up your assertion. surely if this was a factor you could come up with one example of superior recruiting by black coaches. calipari seemed to do A OK with recruiting in memphis. is that a terrible comparison?

Since you asked. Yes. Not only does it not pertain to the point about UT's struggle to build relationships with HS bball coaches, but it's wrong. Cal didn't focus on Memphis

Kentucky basketball sells itself. I would be floored if that idiot was paying players OR cheating there.

Ben Franklin sells Kentucky basketball. He also has always been Cheatapari's lead recruiter, I'd be floored if that changed. Terrence Jones makes me believe it hasn't.

so why has tenn football been consistantly in the top-10 of football recruiting the past 20 years? fulmer and kiffin were black?

Larry Slade, Pat Washington, Rodney Garner, Trooper Taylor, Willie Mack Garza...

Yes. They are just very light skinned blacks.

You are so clueless that it's sad. If you think so poorly of UT, then go join that nimrod in rooting for UK.

Anyone who has been around the UT program any time at all knows that what I said is true. Instead of demonstrating I am wrong by comparing and showing that UT is indeed even in the same universe as KY all you can do is call some names. That is what happens whenever you can't refute the argument. Name calling is the refuge of those who have no argument/facts. I can't refute your arguement so I'll call you clueless. Think that will work in the legal profession?

remind me where Shawne Williams and Rodney Carney were from?

Rodney Garner, Trooper Taylor, outstanding recruiters why? Because of their coaching prowess? Because of their ability to out scheme the opponent? Or they get in homes because they are black?

Trooper's bag of money doesn't hurt

ed O clearly a lousy recruiter because he is white.

Carney was from Indianapolis. Am I on "Candid Posting"? A new show where a poster argues with someone that is a complete dip****?

You guys got me. That's a good one.

being born in memphis was a coincidence?

the head coach is still white so people clearly just crossed UT off the list. . .

Not many minority HC's at big time BCS programs to choose to go to. (I'm really just trying to keep this thing going)

everyone brings up Wade "the fade" Houston when talking about having a black coach doesn't help and it didn't help him. You can't recruit from the golf course. He was so lazy he couldn't recruit if he could pay players. Houston is not a good example. He was to comfortable.

This is contradictory.

Either

1) Tennessee could have attracted, hired, and retained a big name who could compete for championships

or

2) Tennessee settled on a guy because Tennessee is not committed to competing for championships.

There is no option where Tennessee settles on a guy because they are not committed and thus incapable of competing for championships, yet the guy they "settled" on gets multiple final fours and then leaves. Either Tennessee can compete and settled, or it can't and didn't and our new hire will wallow in our mediocrity. Or Tennessee took a calculated risk with an under-the-radar guy. Either way, we don't need to be paranoid about a coach jilting us after winning big. You're thinking like an abused girlfriend.

Talk about flawed logic. First you mis-state what I said i.e. that Tennessee settled for a guy who is incapable of competing for championship. We don't know what he capable of, duh. That is really the point.
For instance if they had spent 4 mil and hired Stevens one would have an expectation that he would compete with Calipari.
Your right about one thing we really dont have to worry about a coach making it to a final four and leaving us. In the history of UT we have made it to the round of 8 just one time.
I hope Martin will turn out to be even better than Pearl. But
it doesn't change the fact that KY strives to have win championships and will spend the money to get a proven winner to coach their team. Tennessee simply does not care about bb enough to do that or they would have been doing all these years. Which is really stupid since they have spent millions on buildings and black curtins.
