About to hit the fan at UNC...basketball and football academic fraud.

Then excuse me. 1 game in 100+ years of basketball tradition nearing the end of the ten-year tubby. I'm sure that game really stood out to the BBN.

Another incorrect statement.

IIRC while at Umass cal played KY on atleast 1 occasion, IN THE FINAL FOUR!!'

Anymore false statements you'd like to make, the more you drag on this discussion the worse it's getting. Reminds me of the "goodbye cuonzo" thread where UT IE 95 has continued to try and defend his argument while continuing to look dumber and dumber for going on about 6 months.

I was only looking at Memphis.

He coached for more teams than Memphis, so why would you only count Memphis?

He has played against UK as an opposing coch multiple times, and some in big time games. Point being, most remember him, and to the original point knew who he was long before arriving at UK.

I get what you're saying and I understand your point, however it's wrong. Nothing wrong with that but quit dragging it out. Maybe what you could've said, and may be closer to true is, most casual fans under the age of 16 didn't know who he was 4 years ago, that I could see as valid. But not all aged fans, because he did things years ago that have made him well known to the population that's above the age of 20.

Gillispie took one of his teams to Houston to play another member of the "league that never plays UK."

I thought diehard UK fans remembered each and every bad loss as much as or more than the biggest wins.

University of Maryland President: "I would expect UNC to get the Death Penalty"

CHAPEL HILL
University of Maryland President Wallace Loh said during an on-campus meeting last week that he “would think” that the NCAA investigation into UNC-Chapel Hill would ultimately lead to the NCAA levying the so-called “death penalty” against the university.

An individual who identified himself as a member of the University of Maryland faculty asked Loh how he could be certain that the university is “protected from the corrupting influence of athletics.” In response, Loh made an unprompted reference to UNC.

“As president I sit over a number of dormant volcanoes,” Loh said. “One of them is an athletic scandal. It blows up, it blows up the university, its reputation, it blows up the president.

“For the things that happened in North Carolina, it’s abysmal. I would think that this would lead to the implementation of the death penalty by the NCAA. But I’m not in charge of that.”

the fact that this thread is 5 years old and nothing has happened of any significance is all you need to know about what will happen to UNC.

Yep. If there is a color named Teflon, UNC should incorporate it into their color palate.

I used to think that, but now I'm starting to wonder that now that they've won a title during this whole "investigation" if some people like the Maryland president are going to be vocal about their displeasure. I think if more people like him are vocal it will put pressure on the NCAA.
