UTK was high on his list and his high school coach is a fan. However, it would have been a really big risk for him considering he only plans on playing one season and the potential for catastrophic NCAA damage in Knoxville. I dont think the punishment will be that harsh but the fact that its possible was enough to deter him.

I wouldn't dismiss that Hat. Not one bit. If he doesn't sign in November, I will still save a little hope on AT. We'll see, but this gets the locals off his back for the time being.

Pearl's going to have to really find creative recruiting strategies to get top notch b-ball recruits to come from Memphis to Knoxville. Memphis used their midnight madness video or speech (whatever it was) from Penny and Bruce is going to have to combat that with something that makes him feel very wanted at Tennessee. Something that will help a recruit reduce their hesitation of leaving Memphis and show them that they will be very successful at UT. Obviously, the recruiting violations is what probably hurt us this time but Pearl has a lot more succcess as Pastner as a head coach, so I think he needs to take recruiting advantage of this stage of Pastner's career and work on creative ways to bring elite Memphis talent to Knoxville.

Alot of schools have fans in just one sport- Duke, Notre Dame, UConn, North Carolina....
Memphis would be in that catagory.

Sadly, I know that feeling and it sucks. It is such a relief when its over. That is unless your AD is stupid like ours and tries to appeal to the same committee that levied the first sanctions.
