Alabama or OSU in the BCSCG?

Alabama or OSU in the BCSCG?

Either way Saban will play his old team or Les will play his old team.

I think if Bama would have lost in Baton Rouge by 3 they probably would have a better case for a rematch. On paper OSU has a better body of work, but with that said I think Bama is better than OSU.

It seems like they are all of sudden moving from body of work to which team is the #2 best team, isn't this the reason why Boise St. was left out in the past? Their body of work was not as good?

If you go with which team is better... Alabama
If you go with which team has a better body of work... OSU

Exactly.

Wow, OSU is leading the poll. Either this site has been invaded by OSU fans or people really don't understand how superior LSU and Bama are to the rest of college football this year. OSU is a joke.

Alabama had them at home on national television. If they can't get it done there, I doubt they can get it done in New Orleans.

Again, who cares if OSU lost to Iowa State? They deserve a shot. Take your SEC blinders off.

Just take the team names out of the equation and think of it like this.

-Teams A and B both complete the regular season with identical records.

-Team A was 11-1 with their only loss being by 3 points in overtime to the undefeated and undisputed #1 team in the nation.

-Team B was 11-1 with their only loss being 6 points in overtime to a 6-6 team that will finish the season outside the Top 25.

How can you make the argument that Team B is more deserving?

All of this argument is silly anyway, because at the end of the day, no team in the nation is "deserving" of a shot at playing LSU for the NC. If justice were truly served, LSU would just be crowned NC's now because they have already proven that they are the best team in the nation this year.

Very good point.

But what if I tell you that team A did not play for their conference championship because they did not even win their own division, and team B is a conference champion of a conference that was actually pretty competitive this year.

Don't care about their resume. Bama is a better team and it isn't close. Also, their resume isn't even that good. Texas A&M, Texas, and OU are all mediocre.

Take out Bama and LSU, those teams could hang with anyother SEC team this year.

The SEC overall was not that good this year.

Then I would ask you why Team A should automatically be disqualified from consideration as the #2 team in the nation simply because they happened to play in the same division as the #1 team?

That's no fault of their own and I don't see why people continue to use that as a mark against Alabama. The only team that beat them was one that was superior to them. Same can't be said for OK St.

how about the fact that me being a tennessee die hard fan i just don't want bama to win another national title.

Same thing happened back in 06 between Michigan and Ohio State both were undefeated, ranked in the top 5, guess what, no rematch. Their should not be one this year either. Bama had their shot, they can still play in the Super Dome, just not on Jan 9th.

The two scenarios are totally different. OSU and Michigan was played on the final week of the regular season, so no other teams really had the opportunity to lose games and help Michigan get back to #2. Bama and LSU was over a month ago, and 5 or 6 other contenders have all lost since that time and played their way out of consideration leaving Alabama as the only remaining worthy contender.

Osu had their chance til they lost to iowa state

We have already saw LSU/Alabama, and LSU won. We have not saw LSU/OSU. Alabama had LSU at home, amd couldn't get the job done. It's OSU's turn. Also, OSU has a better resume.

Ok State begs to differ. What makes Bama better? Because they play in the SEC? They beat NO ONE.
Their best wins were Arky and Penn State.
OK State has, A&M, Texas, K State, OU they also beat more teams with winning records, that resume should stand on its own.

Also, Ok state is a conference champion, that fact cannot be ignored.

Id have no problem with osu going if they had lost to a better team. But isu sucks. Bama shouldn't be penalized for playing in a far superior division

OSU Michigan was 2 weeks before the season ended (2 wks before championship week). Part of the issue was that during all this Michigan wasn't playing, for 2 weeks in the row (back to back bye weeks in college football - a system whose polls have an unintentional short term memory - can be killer)

They had a bad loss; that does not mean they should be kept from the BCS NC. They have a better resume, AND they won their division. A rematch isn't fair to OSU, and it's not fair to LSU. LSU beat Alabama at Alabama. They have nothing more to prove against them.

Uh...........Utah here with something to say. Just sayin' that is why we play the games.

The same people that are arguing against OSU because they lost to ISU are likely the same people that were arguing for LSU in 2007, even though they lost to U of K.

But, are better than most, if not all of Bama's wins, save Arky.

Minus the fact that they also beat Penn State.

9-3 Penn State
9-3 Oklahoma
7-5 Auburn
7-5 Texas
6-6 Florida
6-6 Vanderbilt
6-6 Miss St
6-6 Texas A&M

Not sure how those teams are better than all of Bama's wins. Pretty much equal if you add in Kansas State and Baylor. But the difference is, Alabama lost to a 13-0 team while Oklahoma St lost to a 6-6 team. Also, Bama won @ Penn State, Auburn and Florida. Oklahoma State played Baylor, Kansas State and Oklahoma at home. Their loss came on the road in Ames, Iowa.

Fwiw, I want Oklahoma State to go over Bama but I don't know how you got that Oklahoma, Texas and A&M are better than Alabama's wins.
