Alex Poythress

That's fine. I don't care if we play or not. I just find it humorous that 3 posts ago you were claiming that Tennessee shouldn't duck Memphis. Yet, now you're justifying your own program's attempt to duck Tennessee. Typical hypocritical BS from stupid, trash-talking fans of a pathetic athletic program in a pathetic conference.

We're NOT ducking UT. We've made NO attempt to duck UT. Our coach has come out and made it known that he'd rather play another team in a big metro area, but that's it. We're playing the game and I've gone on record in this thread as saying that I enjoy the game. I love how someone with a s/n of "Lawxxx" is going to call someone a hypocrite. If you actually have anything to do with the law, you should understand that you can and do argue both sides of an issue.

Man, you are REALLY irritated that Poythress is a swingman instead of a post. I've never seen anything like it. Calm down, champ.

Does anybody know where this kid is leaning, or everyone just want to piss and moan with a Memphis fan?

To bring it back on topic, the Memphis staff thinks he's going to Kentucky.

The UK staff is worried he'll go to Memphis.

Local media think he goes to Vandy.

Crackpot quasi-internet media types in KY like KSR have heard rumors that he's going to Kentucky.

I think he'll go to Vandy.

No one knows.

Thats ducking UT!

He said himself he is scared to lose memphis recruits to UT because of this game. HE IS SCARED AND DUCKING!

Impossible. Memphis is on the brink of the best class (on paper) to ever be assembled. Memphis fans were sure of it!

If Muhammed pulls the trigger in the spring, then this class will work out just fine.

He'll have a top 3 class every year because of the way he is running the program. I'm waiting to see if another coach jumps in to start running a similar program.

Which will happen first. Will he win a NC? or will he not and Ky fans lose patience with his system.

It's a real test to see if the one and done approach is the best way to a National Championship. I will give him credit that he does a great job with the ego aspect of so many stars and getting them to play as a team, rather than as individuals looking to go pro.

While there will always be the percentage of blue goggled idiots who want to fire everyone if we have no title within a few years, I honestly believe that most UK will be content with his program. Plug in another elite coach for example who many wanted during our last coaching escapade, Tom Izzo. He runs a great program also, and usually builds good teams every year, but really gears up with upperclassmen and goes after a title every 3 or 4 years, when all variables are correct. With Cal, you literally have the chance to make a final 4 every season, and once you get that far it is in fates hand.

I'm a gambler, and the more odds I have on reaching the final four each year, that is the bet I take. It is different for everyone, and like I said there will be many traditionalist here in KY that want to recruit "good ole kentucky boys", but overall I think most will be satisfied. Cal will leave UK in another 5 years, if not sooner, so it's probably a moot discussion anyway.

+1....Exactly how I feel, but I'm praying for more than 5 years!

Gotta give credit to Poythress. He sat down and called each of the coaching staffs before his declaration and told them that he was going with UK. Class act all the way. I wish him a lot of luck with UK. He's going to be a hell of a player.
