That Cal has brought the spotlight to UK. A player can initiate the interest as well due to the programs popularity.

That has nothing at all to do with what was being discussed. What I was saying is coaches of the teams that have won NC lately realize that they don't want want 5 or 6 of the top 15 guys, they prefer balance. Coach k has even made remarks about how he tries to stay away from recruiting one one and dones usually. I showed the stat that Cal is recruiting all top of the top 10 this year, duke I think was 2, Calhoun 3, self 3, Roy Williams 2 or something like that. These coaches dont want a roster full of one year guys they to a great job of balancing their teams with fresh, soph, juniors, and even a few seniors. This is not something cal does he tries to get players 1-10 on the top 50 list, he could care less if they are leaving in a year. That's all I was saying is that they dominating schools this decade don't recruit the top players like cal does they pick a select few and maybe bring in one or two a year.

For you haters...

In both of these cases, Calipari was cleared by the NCAA of any wrongdoing. In fact, he was never even suspected of wrongdoing by the NCAA, because there was absolutely no evidence to suggest he had anything to do with it. In the case of Derrick Rose, the NCAA had actually investigated his test scores and cleared him to play, only to change their minds later.

There is much more than the Derek rose incident. I actually found out about stuff I had never heard about when I did a search I'll share...

1. Marcus Camby accepted upwards of 40,000 in money and gift from an agent under cals watch. The agent busted said he wasn't the only one, there were agents hooking up his mother and an agent going after cal.

2.In 2001, calipari brings in the high school player of the year to Memphis in dajuan Wagner. Very shortly after the commitment wagners father was hired by calipari As coordinator of basketball operations.

3. When tyreke Evan committed to memphis, Evans personal strength coach as then hired in at Memphis as an administrative assistant.

4. Everyone knows about the sat incident with rose and that he had someone sit and to take the test. The interesting part is the NCAA says that even without the sat incident he would have been ruled intelligible for the seam anyways because calipari allowed rose' brother to travel with team all year for free.

5. Robert Dozier also had serious problems with his sat scores as well. Apparently after he's done playing in pretty sure it was the NSA realizes that his sat score was no good. He lowered his score by over 500 points from his first test which apparently is a red flag and usually requires the player to retake the test. This is why Georgia backed off of him and everybody else started to slight away from him because when they dug a bit they learned about his score and were afraid it could be a problem.

6.The laurinburg institute had served for a pipeline to cal while at Memphis. In 2004, Dozier and Dorsey both attended this school and both Met the NCAAs initial eligibility requirements. In 2007 the NCAA launched a 3 year investigation into prep schools and this school was one of them. The NCAA determined that they would No longer accept courses, grades or diplomas from Laurinburg institute because of concerns about its academic programs And oversight.

The fact that this guy has never been hit and hit hard absolutely baffles me. Maybe he just has very bad luck and finds himself in these positions but after so many times at some point it no longer can be considered coincidences. He just reeks of dirtiness to me.

You realize he's the only coach ever to have 2 final fours vacated right?

He was the coach of those teams, but that doesnt make him guilty.

Is Pearl guilty of being a drug using, gun wielding party guy, since his players were arrested for it? If Pearl is guilty than I'll accept Cal being guilty.

At what point do you consider guilty by association though? I would fully fault pearl with the lackadaisical attitude towards evaluating and then controlling guys when they got here. Pearl isn't guilty of doing those things but he is guilty of them going on under his watch.

1. Agents are agents. They're at all the games trying to get kids to hire them. Camby screwed up, plain and simple.

2. This happens EVERY YEAR to nearly every program. Its not illegal or against any rules to hire someones family member or AAU coach. UK fans are laughing at UL because they hired Teagues coach AND uncle only for him to change his mind and go to UK. Duke just did the same exact thing.

3. Its common, this isnt a big deal. The NCAA is fully aware of this.

4. Not sure about that, I've done a lot of research and havent heard it. As for cheating on a high school test 800 miles away in the middle of the season? Give me a break. I'll never understand how cheating on a test is lethal compared to getting arrested and caught with guns and drugs in the car.

5. Never heard this. I'm not saying it didnt happen, but who doesnt have a few shady incidences? Even the Mr Clean Tubby had a crazy case where he supossedly founf a fax clearing Morris to play....long story but it was BS. How about Calhoun from UConn having a player clearly tell the media that he was approached with benefits if he signed, this was all put to the side and it was just last season.

6. It wasnt illegal, right? All the coaches want to win and they're going to push the rules as far as they can to do so.

Shady deals are magnified when it comes to Cal. Calhoun was questioned in (what I thought) was a huge deal, but it didnt even make headlines. If that was Cal it'd be on CBS. Funny how I cant find any info on certain coaches, even if they're known cheaters (like Pitino), but Cal is questioned if a kid farts too loud. It all comes down to what sells. And Cal screwing up sells. Nobody even outside the state of KY or TN even remember why Pearl got canned. BBQ, who, what?

I'm not saying he committed huge NCAA violations and should be banned but just a lot of shady stuff in my mind. All this stud was taken directly off of caliparis profile page on Wikipedia if you wanted to look it up and read for yourself, in fact here's the link John Calipari - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. I agree cal is not the only one to hire players friend or family it's becoming very common and something IMO that should have been topped while ago it I clearly a move to get a recruit. I was just stating he is very shady, and most UK fans agree with tat statement. There is a reason he's the only coach with 2 final fours vacated, he let these things go on under his watch.

Bleeding, you know I appreciate all you do and say on here, but lets not be linking to wikipedia for facts... lol

haha i know i know. i figured it had the summary of the stories on it, if you didnt believe wiki google each story seperately and you will find multiple reports on each of the stories from much more credible sources, i know because i did it. i just figured instead of posting 10 links id post one with all the situations and let doubters do their own research from there.

It's hard not to say anything when someone posts a link to wiki. lol

You could've overwhelmingly won by posting 10 credible links instead of one that I could have gone and altered right after your post. lol

Yeah for instance Adolph Rupp's Wiki is locked because some placed claims and facts to support he was racist. We all know that is false.

Cal has been involved in so many shady deals it is hard to think he is clean.
If it waddles like a duck, quacks like a duck, and swims like a duck then the chances are pretty good it is a duck.

You didnt understand. My point was that Cal might not go after all of them. Some want to come anyway and UK returns interest.

Ok, name some?

There's a a reason he is the ONLY COACH in the history of the NCAA to vacate 2 final fours right? They don't dish out that punishment for fun it's because someone wrong occurred and was linked to you as the coach in some way, even if it was just on your watch.

You didnt understand. My point was that Cal might not go after all of them. Some want to come anyway and UK returns interest.

Cal has offered scholarships thereto these guys he's clearly going after them to dent that is just false. Don't you think 1stars show interest in UK as well? Cal doesn't have to return the interest and recruit them or offer scholarships. It's not a coincidence that every year he is going after more top 15 guys than any other coach, those are the guys he wants. And you theory they show interest, so you suggest these players aren't interested in NC, Duke, Uconn, and Kansas? Seriously? As i said Cal doesn't have to return the interest , he wants those type of players so that's why he recruits more of them than anybody else.

I havent looked into it, but if you create an account on Wiki you can change anything you want. I wouldnt exactly take it to the bank.

Bottom line, he hasnt done anything illegal. I thought the same exact way as you until I read about the entire situations at Memphis and UMass. Kelvin Sampson was guilty, he was fired. Same with Pearl. People that are in the "know" are the universities and the NCAA, and neither one of those even looked his way at blame. Both Memphis AND UMass did everything possible to try and keep him. Memphis even said they'd match anything UK would throw at him. You're correct, he is the only coach that has coached 2 teams to get into trouble....but unless he's the one responsible, who cares? You cant watch these kids 24-7, and they're kids. Overall, I'm thrilled he's at UK. If the Cats could have any college coach in the country it would be a tough pick between him and Roy Williams.

I dont mean to beat a dead horse, but your facts are from Wiki. As I said before, hiring AAU coaches or Uncles is very common. All the programs do it. Even Duke does it. The NCAA is full aware of it, its part of the recruit bait.

As I addressed further up yes I know it is from wiki and that things can be changed. I went on to elaborate that a simple search of each of the situations will bring up multiple reports from reliable sites. Instead of posting 10 links on here I figure I'd post the one with all the stories and if people doubted it they can search each story theirselves. Not for nothing but if I was gonna make an account and create also stories they would be much better than the ones I posted. He hasn't been hit hard with anything your right, but I truly think he's just smarter than the system. IMO he has 3rd parties or even more than that, world wide Wes this institute, friends who are agents he is smart enough to not get caught red handed with any of this. As someone said if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck it's usually a duck. Maybe he isn't but IMHO he's dirty, but without proof it doesn't much matter.

Not only has the dead horse been beaten, but also raped, mauled, tarred and feathered.

You'd think everyone would realize by now the calipari discussion, its been had thousands of times since he was hired. Simply put and i don't know how it could be argued, cal has been involved in some sketchy stuff and is shady to say the least. He has had 2 final fours vacated, more than any other coach. With that said though nothing has been really directly linked that was all that crucifying and he is still in the NCAA coaching so not much can really be said.

Those that get mad when his is called shady are in denial, I know you agree? On the other hand those that say he has been the dirtiest coach, well they are judging something that hasn't been proven. JMO.

It's this simple:

Cal has played in the grey area of the rulebook several times in the past, it's not a coincidence that he has that type of record. Blah Blah, cheater, blah blah. He's not perfect, lots of baggage.

However, the types of things you referenced in your posts such as hiring uncles, giving coaches jobs, that happens at EVERY SINGLE blueblood program in the country. KU, Texas, UCLA, UNC and so on. Even coach K had his situation with Corey Maggette. Every program with championship pedigree pushes the envelope in many areas. Some get caught, some do not. Does the severity of how hard each coach pushes change? Sure, but everybody develops the narrow minded view that he is the only person in college basketball who stands on that side of the line, and it just isn't accurate.

No he's clearly not the only one to do some shady stuff. There was more to what he's done too besides the hiring of players family. The institute he was getting llayers from, the sat situations, and the camby situation those are all very serious and not something all coaches have linked to them. As I said though, he has outsmarted the NCAA in someway or maybe is innocent(cough, cough) but either way hadn't been found directly guilty on these accusations. He clearly is shady, whether or not he ever gets hit with anything is anyone's guess.
