Imagine the necessary intellectual gymnastics it'd take to rationalize away the POTUS shtting on the nations fallen?

They want to increase their ratings which does what? Thus they do have to have reporting critical of Trump to bring in new viewers.

I don't think Fox gets better ratings by bashing Trump or reporting on things that make him look bad. Just like MSNBC doesn't get better ratings by bashing Biden. It's no coincidence that Fox actually had better ratings when Obama was President, and MSNBC has had better ratings under Trump.

You can effectively curate your news feed today, whether via the internet/social media or cable TV, and people want to watch stuff that confirms what they already believe. It's a totally different business model than the earlier days of mass media, when it made more business sense to play things more down the middle and throw bones to all sides of the political spectrum. You don't have to do that anymore. Within the ecosystems of those networks, which are echo chambers, you don't really get better ratings by being controversial. You give your audience what it's there for.

True Trump fans are going to watch FXN so they have captured that market-share, they need new viewership to increase ratings. In business if you're not growing you're dying.

So where is the proof that Trump said anything he was alleged to say? There is plenty of proof that the flight was canceled due to weather. Everytime democrats allege something they can never show proof, it's always a he said she said. So until you limp wristed tards can prove something provide some proof.

You do need new viewership, but you sure as hell aren't going to get new viewership on Fox News by being critical of Trump. Their core viewership would leave and head to other venues like OAN or Breitbart (especially once Trump himself told them to), and people open to critical coverage of Trump aren't going to migrate to Fox News of all places to get it; they can already get that from CNN, MSNBC, etc.
