Big Time Pick-up CCM! Barton may not have as many 20-30 pt nights, but IMO we should still be more consistant offensively. He will also improve our defense from day 1. Not making any predictions, but bias or not I would put our starting 5 against anybody in the country now.

Bring on the homer and orange sunglass posts....

Switch Pastner and Counzo and Counzo has a bunch of losses to CUSA teams and Pastner has top 25 wins. Antonio Barton is not a good player and his a HUGE downgrade to Trae Golden. He is better than nothing but my God.

Pastner can only beat one Top 25 team with better talent than he would've had at UT and you think he'd have a bunch of Top 25 wins at UT against better competition with less talent? LOL.

And a huge downgrade from Golden? You're clueless. He might not be as good, but he's a better outside shooter and better defensively. Two areas Golden always struggled with. Golden could throw up 25 points a night and then completely be a no show. We need someone who is fairly consistent. We'll have plenty of other scorers in McRae, Stokes, Maymon and Hubbs. All he needs to be is a caretaker.

Antonio is a downgrade from Golden. But it does help us bc PG won't be as big of a question mark than it would have been without Barton

He is absolutely awful at bringing the ball up the court. This guy is further from being a true PG then Trae Golden ever was. And you said an upgrade physically? Bahahaha.

If he was better or as good as golden he wouldn't have transferred from Memphis bc he'd be getting more PT than what he was projected to get

Conceed the fact he wasnt going to get the pt at memphis. Memphis is a lot more set at the pg position that we are. But better doesnt just mean scoring. Better in our case means more consistant. He can have a poor shooting night and still be effective.

Golden rarely did that.

In all fairness there's not many PGs in the country who would usher minutes from Joe Jackson. There's a reason Boeheim wanted him even though he's got 5* Tyler Ennis coming in and why Turgeon wanted Barton even though he has top 50 recruit Roddy Peters coming in. Or why A&M wanted him even though they have a guy many here wished we had in Fabyon Harris.

He is way more faster than Golden...you guys are something else, if Cuonzo got Wiggins you would be mad he didn't get Parker too lol. Barton was the best available this late in the game and guess what Zo got him.

Fwiw, Barton's TO/Min ratio(.048) is better than Golden(.064) or Jackson (.086).
Golden was 29% from 3. Barton is 40%+
Upgrades where we need it most.
If Trae had a 3 pt shot I would take him over Barton though.
