Antonio Barton is coming to UT

This season isn't the season you want us.

As for AB, I'm happy for him. He'll get all the PT he can handle, and he should have some solid talent around him.

I'm not sure he's an upgrade from Golden (they're probably equal in talent), but he may fit better in UT's rotation. He's not a great distributor, but he can shoot the lights out, and he's clutch. Serviceable on defense, aggressive with the ball in his hands. Good pick up for the Vols.

Just his 3 pt shooting will help us tremendously.
Think we're going to get his BEST YET.

Actually this is the season I do want to play you guys more than any. We have a full roster for the first time in 3 years. The story lines of Barton vs. Memphis, and Nichols vs. UT would just add intrigue to the matchup.

I hope to see you guys in the dance as it doesn't look like we'll play next year even if series is extended.

I think we'd be trouble for you this season. Should be the best team under Pastner, laden with seniors. You guys will be the best team under Martin, but our back court is what beat you guys last season, and they're all back, playing against Barton, whom they all know well.

"Held back at Memphis". I'd say he couldn't manage to beat out Geron Johnson, Chris Crawford or Geron Johnson, who could all be conference PoY this season.

There's no point in arguing it as there's no way to settle it without playing, which obviously isn't likely. Last year was a pretty damn close game, and that was without our best player.

Held back was the wrong wording, previous poster somewhat corrected it. Will is excited Antonio is getting a chance to show out, and from his quotes he feels Antonio is really gonna show out...says he'll be in Knoxville and watching every game, expects a deep tourney run.

Memphis has beat us 3 times in a row and pastner is undefeated against CCM. If that doesn't mean anything then Billy Donovan at UF being winless against CCM shouldn't mean anything either

We had absolutely no one that could stop Joe Jackson.
We can at least slow him down now. Memphis State knows Barton all too well, but I'm sure Barton knows Jackson pretty well also. Memphis State hasn't played against Maymon and Stokes along with someone that can now get them the ball. I think UT is the last team Memphis State really wants to play come tourney time.

"From the first time that we talked on the phone he emphasized to me how much he needed toughness and defense at the point guard spot," Barton said. "I think that's what my game is all about. Coach said he needed a tough-nosed guy to control the flow, play defense and make open shots. I think I can do all that and get the job done."

You got one problem...Pastner is the coach. Memphis will go no where under him.

Not to stir the pot but this is the problem ..you .guys have a coach problem not a team problem it's very evident to people outside of the program... And that is coming from a person who personally likes Josh Pastner. I am also concerned about his recruiting after losing the guy to the state of Arizona...

Good for Antonio...I have watched him play many of nights and I love the young mans game. Martin got a very good player with Barton.

Please stop referring to them as Memphis State. You dont sound old school or cool. You sound like an idiot. It is the equivalent of referring to UT as Blount College or East Tennessee college.
