Calling UOM Memphis State ONLY gets under the skin of a Memphis fan. Obviously, you must be a closet kitten fan. Memphis State was their official name for 53 years. The reason they changed their name was to try to make the University sound more prestigious than it is....which is an absolute joke. So, if you are offended by the use of Memphis State, then you might as well get some thicker skin on this board.

And we went by the previous names i mentioned for 30 years at separate times. I have no relation to Memphis and do not give you know what about them. I do hate when people think they are creative by referring to something as it used to be called. You do not look smart by doing it. I have a theory that these are the same people who will argue with you that the civil war was not about slavery. Just a theory no proof.

Whats sad is this would be a great memphis vs tn game with so meany stories. You have barton going back home,and hubbs vs nichols. To bad its over for now.

The best thing about Barton coming to UT is that it 1) it fills a huge need and 2) it pisses Tiger High fans off.

A true win-win.

Doesn't piss me off at all, it was the best move for him being that he wasn't going to play much if any this season for Memphis.....

Go tell that to the morons at the Tiger High board. Good stuff. Just like I said awhile back if Barton went to UT, he'd be hated.

Way to go Barton. You're already one of my favorite UT players.

Bleed, many felt Pastner pushed more for home towner Joe Jackson in starting him over Barton for several years. There were stretches during Barton's Freshman & Soph yrs he was clearly better, but Pastner felt in the long run Jackson would be the better. Barton is clearly and upgrade at guard, will be interesting how he does playing the point. Barton should provide better lateral defense than Trae could do.
