It’s not that we can’t fight our own battles. People in California are just way too non confrontational. With people who know how to get things done, such as the nice folks in this forum, perhaps we could. Surely there is something we could help your University with? Maybe not, but hey I have to try…

Sorry, I guess I left myself open to that one. Yeah a majority of the City of Berkeley shuns athletes in general. They would rather sit and stair at a tree for days and days.

They are a very bad bunch, who fuel lies and innuendo. In short, they are nothing but trash. I wish we could have the strong fan base like you guys! Hell, you would have probably cut the trees down or burned them down by now. Free spirit like that is crushed in the Peoples Republic of Berkeley.

If any of you do come to the game be sure to stay in San Francisco, not Berkeley! Also, spend no money in BERKELEY! Only spend money on the campus and neighboring communities.

People like the hippies find nice folks like yourselves reprehensible. WELL I FIND THE HIPPIES DETESTABLE!

i wished i would have known this sooner. my friend (who is from southern GA but now living in Anaheim) booked our room about a mile away from the stadium. hopefully it wont turn out too bad as i'm sure we'll be spending a lot of our time at the bars when we're not at the game

Thanks Hatvol. Remember, don't even stop for a pack of cigarettes or a brew in Berkeley. Some of us are looking to make a list of businesses sympathetic to our plight and I will try to get that to you guys. Most hate the Bears and football, sad. Considering the MILLIONS in tax revenues we generate for the damn place!

If you need any help with directions to the nearest Bart station (Bay Area Rapid Transit) from where your staying I would be happy to help. I plan to hang around this forum till game day so I will be here to help facilitate the needs of any logistical questions Vols may have.

Oh yeah, if you are willing to rent a car, San Jose is a nice city. It is only about an hour to the stadium, depending on your fear of the CHP.

No problem. I always stay in San Francisco when I'm in the Bay Area. BART makes everything else accessible.

Hang in there IBleedOrange, there will no doubt be Golden Bears in the area to protect you from the backlash of the irrational hippies.

I think the best solution for your problem, Cbears, is to try to enlist a squad of Knoxville's finest to come out and clear out the hippies the way they do on the strip outside of Neyland stadium about 2 hours after the game is over. They would never know what hit 'em.....

I am quite intrigued by your solution Hmanvol! Sadly, our finest have attempted to remove them for some time, and our finest truly are that. See, we can’t even rely on the City police who are puppets of the despotic city regime to act. As a result, we have some of the finest campus police officers in the country.

You must bear in mind that these tyrants have an army of lawyers, who sue the University for EVERYTHING! Things seem so nice and peaceful in Tennessee. If only I had been born a southerner. Still, I am more proud than ever to be a Californian! We are too smart for the brainless bastards to stop us forever.

Regrettably however, we could use some foreign intervention. So, I implore all Vol fans making a trip to the game to not spend a cent in the city. I know that will be tough, but the campus is enormous and will offer ALL Vols a safe refuge.

Also, I am definitely not trying to say that the acid crazed hippies will attack you. They are generally yellow bellied cowards. Aside from the occasional hippie experimenting with PCP. In such instances the rally committee is authorized to put them down, with extreme prejudice!

Am enjoying reading your posts, CB. If all the folks out there in the Bay Area were as conscientous and well spoken as you then it could be easily worked out (not to mention an obvious football fan). I may have to invest in a trip out there for the big game and check it out for myself. Maybe you can enlist Bill Gates to throw some support behind y'alls efforts.... :idea:

While I will not explicitly encourage such activities, nothing would make me happier! I would be proud to walk with you! Together, Bear and Volunteer, we shall overcome. They want to destroy our way of life. They hate football; think it is a waste of time. Shiiiiiat! If anything is an f-ing waste of time, it is spending months in trees that the UC planted 80 yrs ago as simple landscaping! Just be thankful you have 2500+ miles separating you from them!
The poor Cal faithful have been battling this nemesis for years! A powerful Nation like yours could help to combat them!

I am going to try to make it but I am on a student budget. I am hoping Michael Silver comes through for me... He is supposed to be getting me tickets and somewhere to stay
