I missed where I made any correlation whatsoever to Miami finishing 8-5, and Tennessee's chances of doing the same this season.
The fact is you guys are projecting Miami's late 80s swagger on a Tennessee program that isn't nearly as talented. Get back with me in three years when Kiffin's had a chance to build the program.
Nothing about that statement is incorrect. You trying to act like you meant it in a context other than what was obvious to every poster on the site is what's so funny.
No one here thinks it's remotly the same. If they did, who cares? Does it hurt yor feelings? Seriously, why do you come on this board just to argue with Ut fans?
We all know your opinion before you even state it. Five straight, we're not as good as we say, we don't give UF enough credit. Ok.
I mean, this is a thread about a tv show, and you have to come in and pick out something someone says about Ut unrelated to the topic and try to knock us down a peg.
COME ON, MAN!
What's funny was how some of you tried to project Kiffin's "swagger" to the Miami teams of the 80s.
Talk about taking things out of context....
It's a thread about a great documentary, a documentary that got twisted into a conversation about whether Kiffin can bring the same level of success to UT that Johnson brought to UM.
Fact is, Miami was an independent while Tennessee plays in the SEC. Fact is Tennessee is probably two years away from sniffing a shot at the SEC title, let alone multiple national titles in a four year span.
I love the optimism, but I think a few posters on this thread got a little carried away.
Oh really, this I believe is what the original post said:
This is bringing back some memories of growing up in south Florida. Cannot remember a program that just dominated the way Miami did in the 80's.
New decade is on the horizon, would like for 2010'-2020' to be the decade of THE U T except without all the thugs.
I should know, I WROTE IT!
