Anyone play guitar?

I own an electric and acoustic. Took lessons for about a year and then lost interest in the lessons. Wasn't doing my weekly work and got lazy. My electric guitar strings have been. broken for over a year. I don't even know how to restring them.

If you want to try to restring it, it's not too hard. I'm sure there are plenty of YouTube videos out there. After you do it 3 or 4 times, you'll be able to restring in your sleep.

If you have any desire to pick your axes back up, I recommend getting a tab book of your favorite band. It's a lot easier to learn guitar if you're playing music you like.

I have some Van Halen tab books. Probably not the best tab books to be buying for a noob. :)

Just sold mine the other day. I would love to have the time to invest to become pretty good but I didn't & it was just sitting in the case doing nothing. Invest in new golf clubs now.

I've been playing since i was twelve years old so almost elecen years now. I started off with a hand me down Lotus but now I have a Yamaha cut away acoustic electric the neck is so thin and really easy on the fingers. I learnd by ear but have picked up on tabs lately.

Siap but easy way to remember standard tuning from top to bottom.

E very
A wesome
D og
G ets
B ig
E rections

I've been playing like crazy the past couple weeks. I'm starting to break through my ceiling I've been stuck on for the past 2 or 3 years.

Going to practice with my friend's band this week. Hopefully I'll earn a spot, and I'm feeling pretty confident. My buddy has been playing since he was 8 and he has a lot of classical and scholarly training, so he is incredibly beastly at guitar. It's a lot of fun when you have that kind of background and want to play in a progressive metal band (comparable to Protest The Hero). Wish me luck dudes! I've been dying to collaborate with this guy for the past 6 years.

I'm starting my trek into learning guitar. Been practicing for about a week now and progress is slow, but I can tell I'm getting better.

I've been reading this thread, and am learning a lot. I'll try to periodically update my status and keep this thread bumped, so I can get even more out of the experienced players on here

SIAP but a great online free site that I visit every now and then is justinguitar.com.
Covers everything starting from beginner, and he covers most genres too.

Also, YOUTUBE is your BEST FRIEND.

how did it go

still going at it. Still doing chord progressions, scales (blues, pentatonic), and learning more power chords and bar chords recently

it's pretty fun, and I plan on doing it the rest of my life so I want to get decently good

recently tried Open E tuning on my electric - damn, rock songs are simple like this. Should have done this a long time ago.
