Apple event 9/9 1:00pm

Which carrier do you have? I have Verizon and they said I could do it until the end of the month in stores. Problem is you have to make sure the new phone gets shipped to you by then. I think if you order it online they even give you a little bit longer.

Yeah. I'm under the impression - with Verizon - that when you preorder it, they don't charge your card until the phone is actually shipped. Then you have to bring the new phone plus the trade-in into the store, and they more or less "appraise" it (looking for certain specific problems/conditions). After that you're given either a code or something to use online that rebate's the card that was charged the $200 amount for the trade-in.

But either way, that $200 amount/gift card isn't coming until the very end.

That said, Verizon should really have gotten out the exact details of the program/exchange to their employees sooner rather than the actual morning that the preorders began.

Called Verizon today. They said as long as you go to verizonwireless.com/tradein and fill out the form by Sept 30, then you are covered. Just be sure to select the iPhone promotion option at the bottom of the form. They will send a package and you have until Dec 31 to ship it back for the $200 rebate. I didn't ask if you could just bring it into the store when you are ready.

I did that and preordered the 64 GB Silver 6 (after holding a Galaxy Note in the store yesterday I decided the Plus was just too big for everyday use). Should arrive ~Oct 7.

I'd rather wait an extra 2 weeks at home than 3-4 hours in line on Fri.

Sorry about the misinformation guys, was just going off articles I read and what a customer service rep previously told me. I went into my local Verizon store today and it was like you guys said, I pre-ordered the phone today and will be receiving the space gray iphone 6 plus on October 28th. I had to pay $80 today and that was to pre-order the phone and it gets me a screen protector, house charger and car charger. The phone ships to the store so when it comes in they will call I bring my current iphone 4 in and I will pay for the remaining balance of the phone minus the trade in value for the phone. The other thing was they were running a promotion where for every new smartphone you add to your plan you get 1 gig of data added to your current plan for free, so I got an extra gig of data put on my plan for getting a new smartphone as well. I decided not to do their edge program, it's cheaper for me to stay in my current plan and I still got an extra gig for free so I was really happy about that.

If you haven't pre-ordered, the iPhone 6 128 GB Silver and Gold are still showing shipping on 09/19 or week afterwards according to an AT&T rep. I canceled my 64 GB Space Grey pre-order and ordered the Silver 128 GB.

Interesting about the extra GB. They didn't mention that to me at all. But I don't really need it and I'm considering jumping to T-mobile fairly soon anyway.

So I've already preordered the 6 thru AT&T. Can I still do the trade in?

Yes, wait until your phone ships. Evidently you'll get a special promo code to use for the trade in online via email when it ships or just take it in store. This is what they told me.

Ill never understand the iphone fans...I had an iPhone 4 for maybe 3 months...the lock button broke, it was too small (I was used to a galaxy) and you can hardly customize anything. Anyway...not trying to start a debate or hijack this thread...

Pre-ordered my iPhone 6 64GB this afternoon, in store at AT&T. They specifically told me that model is still shipping on 09/19. Got home to get a confirmation email saying it won't shop until Oct. 13th - 31st. Thanks a bunch AT&T! :)

I ordered 64GB Space Gray and got this quote as well. I am aggravated, as I don't want to wait that long! I'm thinking of at least trying to stop by an AT&T store day-of-launch and trying to pick one up.

just looked at couple of cases for the 6 and 6 plus
the 6plus still fits in a front pcket, but that's going to be a big phone

I was on the fence but I think I'm sticking with the plus. My girlfriend has a Note 3 & I can handle it fine & put it in my pocket. The iPhone is thinner, virtually same width, & a hair longer.

Any suggestion on cases? Want protection, but don't want to bulk it up. Looked at getting the $2 one posted in the thread but backordered now until end of month
