Yeah, like the majority of Georgia fans wouldn't be doing backflips if they woke toorrow to discover that Richt had been fired and replaced with Gruden.

As a Vol fan and east tennessean who has teeth and goes to the dentist regularly, I am not as intimidated.

It's nowhere near as bad as Detroit unless you're just concentrating on College Park. There are plenty of nice areas in Atlanta. Certainly not a cesspool of decay as you so offensively coined it.

Gundy would be a get for the Hogs. Most have given up on Gruden, and Gundy or Patterson are light years better than Franklin.

There is a small contingent with the same belief. The Grudenites don't like us. But they will like you even less with that UGA next to your name. All reason is lost with them, and all outlandish, incredulous rumors are fact as long as it makes them feel better.

I have noticed a very large part of the group swearing Gruden is a done deal are the same ones who swear the 4-5 star recruits are all UT's to lose. All the recruits love UT and are just waiting for their turn to commit. When they go somewhere else, they have a long list of excuses why. It plays out every day much the same way. We have not had alot of recruit action going on, so I guess they decided to go with a Gruden party. As long as they are having fun, they are not hurting anyone.

Jerry Jones is an idiot and is the next al michaels. Gruden knows that and he won't subject himself to a control freak again.

There is nothing concrete out there that would make me think Gruden is a real possibility for us. And I've looked at all the same things everyone else has. Feel free to believe what you want. It's going to be a shame if we make a solid hire that isn't Gruden and 70% of the fanbase is butthurt.

The media won't give you anything "concrete" until it is official and they announce the press conference. It's one thing to be skeptical, but to say it's "outlandish" is just stupid.

If the last 3-4 years should have shown us Vols anything, it is to control your expectations.

"Some guy on some message board said Gruden told his wife's 4th baby mama cousin that her friend knows a mechanic who worked on Jon's car 3 years ago that if UT wanted him, he would listen". "It's a done deal to Knoxville". :eek:lol:

Word is that Arkansas has their next coach signed. A colleague in my firm (who I trust implicitly) in Fayetteville is best friends with the General Counsel for the U of A system. General Counsel confirmed that he had an executed contract in hand but would not reveal the name of the signatory until a date that will be determined in the future.

The rampant speculation is that they have hired Gundy with a 4-5 year deal in the 18-22 million range, which I believe doubles his salary. Hog fans are sold on the plausibility of this scenario because of some unhappiness between Gundy and the OSU AD. There are also beliefs that Gundy went to get another raise after Arkansas called and the T-Boone and the AD said no.

I usually don’t post things like this because I am not in the know but my colleague is and is usually spot on. TIFWIW, which I recognize is little of nothing.

That's not even remotely close. Whether you choose to believe it or not, some posters on this and other message boards have connections to people close to the situation on all sides. Some of us have personal connections to these posters and choose to trust them based on past events. Things are playing out the way some trusted people expected, at least the people I trust.

I'm no insider, nor do I claim to be. But there are people who know what they are talking about. This isn't even close ti the scenario you posted.

Didn't know there were dumb people in Arkansas. The Ark OP was obviously trying to be funny but the funny part is the next post asking who his source is.

That's as bad as Hyams today giving everyone the answer to the trivia question by mistake and it still taking 5 callers to get it right. Show is pure gold
