Arkansas rumors

There is a small contingent with the same belief. The Grudenites don't like us. But they will like you even less with that UGA next to your name. All reason is lost with them, and all outlandish, incredulous rumors are fact as long as it makes them feel better.

I've seen some state unequivocally that, with the Gruden hire, UT would win the SEC within 3 seasons. This is where a fanbase causes trouble for the program with unreasonable claims and expectations. Gruden has never HC'd a down of college football. Some pro success doesn't automatically translate. Just ask Bill Walsh, Al Groh, Jerry Glanville, Bill Callahan, et al. He might come to UT and he might be a great CHC. But then again he might not. He has a .540 HC'ing lifetime win %, and was fired from his most previous job after posting 4-12, 9-7, 9-7 seasons. That's not exactly proven, IHMO.

Lol, Study the Nfl winning percentage before you post.

What does 95-81 come out to on your calculator?

It comes out to a winning percentage that is fairly close to what many, many great coaches have. There are some good arguments as to why he may or may not be a good college head coach...NFL winning % isn't one of them.

. ??.540 if a pretty good percentage in the best football league in the world. My only concern when we get gruden is how many players he will get out of yalls backyard

Why doesn't anyone think he would go to Arkansas?

He has no ties.

They have 0 SEC Championships.

Why do you think he would go there??

Gruden doesn't strike me as the type to hang out with a fan base that screams "Wooo Pig Soooie".

So pure speculation on everyone's part here. Both our side and theirs.

You all are delusional.

So people don't agree with you and they are delusional? Solid logic.

Maybe you've missed the 10 or so people that have said Tennessee.

Chris Mortensen saying the only college Gruden would be interested in is Tennessee and saying he doesn't know where Arkansas fans come up with that stuff, that's delusional too, right?

No offense but do you know what's more delusional? Hanging out on a rumors and speculation forum and talking to people you view as delusional. You have nothing better to do with your time than talk to delusional people or something?

Arkansas rumors surfacing today that suggest a press conference Saturday announcing Gruden to them. Many different posters feel that it's a done deal.

Their mods don't but we'll see.

I'll eat crow if it happens but I don't think it's Gruden.

It just doesn't make sense. If Gruden wanted to come coach college, then Tennessee would be the only one he'd consider. He has no ties whatsoever at Arkansas and no disrespect to them, but it's not like they're a top school that coaches are begging to go to. These must be the most delusional fans in the world. If Gruden is not the HC for Tennessee, then he'll either stay at ESPN or join the NFL once again.
