I understand. Exactly like Derrick Henry, Denico Autry, Damien Jacobs, and so on and so on were locks to be Vols. Just like Randy Shannon was hired. The SOURCES on this board said so. I will believe it when Hart makes the announcement.

The media isn't giving anything concrete because there is nothing but speculation out there. The most reasonable rumors are that he MIGHT be asking around for assistants that COULD be interested IF he were to look for a new job. In the possibility that that rumor is true, that has nothing to do with Tennessee. What's outlandish is that all of you are so confident that Gruden is coming. That is wishful thinking at best.

I'm not saying that he isn't taking the job at UT. I'm saying that no one has any clue, and while there are NFL jobs on the table chances are slim. So the confidence from the Grudenites can be best described as outlandish.

You don't know what other people know. That is where you are making your first mistake.

Re-read my post about people close to the situation. To act like no one knows anything is both naive and ignorant.

You don't know if what other people know has any truth to it whatsoever.

To act like other people know things just because they claim credibility is both naive and ignorant.

Has it ever occured to you this board might not be the only place to get information? Some people might have phone conversations, text messages, email, twitter, other message boards, etc., to get their info.

Let that sink in before you respond.

It depends on where the info is coming from.

For example, I don't know you and I can't remember any of your posts having any merit. So, if you told me that you heard that Al Golden was going to be our next coach, I probably would be a little skeptical.

If the people I have a history with told me the same, I would be more inclined to believe and trust their info.

Well in the month since you've been here I doubt my posts have had much merit to you, seeing as that I'm not throwing around unsubstantiated rumors and professing my love for Jon Gruden. But I digress. I'd love to discuss further after a hire is made. We shall see how many of these "sources" have merit.

Some dude from Arkansas said on the radio that gruden to Arkansas will be announced Saturday....Says deal has been done for awhile lol

Word is that Arkansas has their next coach signed. A colleague in my firm (who I trust implicitly) in Fayetteville is best friends with the General Counsel for the U of A system. General Counsel confirmed that he had an executed contract in hand but would not reveal the name of the signatory until a date that will be determined in the future.

The rampant speculation is that they have hired Gundy with a 4-5 year deal in the 18-22 million range, which I believe doubles his salary. Hog fans are sold on the plausibility of this scenario because of some unhappiness between Gundy and the OSU AD. There are also beliefs that Gundy went to get another raise after Arkansas called and the T-Boone and the AD said no.

I usually don’t post things like this because I am not in the know but my colleague is and is usually spot on. TIFWIW, which I recognize is little of nothing.

P.S. There is a small but loud contingent of Hog fans that want Franklin. This makes me happy.

I hope and believe that Gruden and his wife have loyalty to their prior stopping grounds in TN...

This is ridiculous. People believing all this noise is setting themselves up for disappointment. Both sides claiming its a done deal. He will probably leave both of us at the alter.

It's been a "done deal" there for months...they just keep pushing back the announcement date for some reason.

Of course I know there are other ways to get info. The problem is that the ones having the phone conversations are having them with the guy sending the text message about the email that he got from the chic who saw it on twitter via an "insider" from this message board. See how that works? Let that sink in for a bit. :)

i found it funny that they say, "UT has no money, no decent team next year to work with, and facilities aren't top notch" when all are lies.... We seen just how quick we can "get money" so everything they say is dumb.

They seem to have really bad Intel over there. Yes, Neyland is older and a little rundown in some parts but it's like they are trying to judge ALL our facilities by that...and that's just dumb. Not to say that Arkansas facilities are bad because they aren't and there is a lot of money over there but ask any non-biased person and they will probably tell you Tennessee facilities > Arkansas facilities overall.
