Arkansas fans actually believe they have a shot at hiring Jon Gruden.

"Between April and the A&M game Long was given Gruden's agent # four times and Jeff Long never called him! Two weeks before the A&M game Lindsey, Tyson, and JD From April till the A&M game Long was given Gruden's Agents # four times and never reached out to him. Two weeks before the A&M game Lindsey, Tyson, and JD got the ball a rollin and then Jerry Jones the weekend of A&M! Jerry Jones sent his jet to Tampa and brought Gruden to Kyle field and they met that weekend and went over his demands and a contract that weekend and Monday (MNF was @ Dallas). Jeff Long was handed this and pretty much forced to make this hire, reports that week said that Gruden would be willing to listen to Arkansas! All of the updates since then that Duckman and HogsIn are pretty much spot on! The deal is done and shortly after Jeff Long got his ext and raise of almost twice his salary (after this horrific season)! Be patient and thank Duckman and HogsIn for updates from some inside sources that are credible! Otis Kirk, Trey Schaap, or whomever can't reveal their sources, that is how you keep getting info!! Been quiet, but tired of skeptics when we all can be happy and celebrate when this is announced! WPS #CJMFG!!

arky isnt going to get gruden, BUT they are going to be a pain from what im reading in the national media they are going at this search with a money is no object mindset.

If so, i can see it commng to a point where Hart has to say forget it, Espn matching Arky and he just keeps his current job.

Gruden has ZERO ties to ARKY. No worries there. He either goes to UT or back to NFL.

And to the General, I listen to UT Sports Radio when I'm bored just to see whats going on, lots of doubters that Gruden is coming, our media here after conferring with their sources are on board with the hire, people here have heard its been a done deal for a while, only in state media have been reporting this, the national media is under the assumption that if Gruden were to return to college coaching the obvious choice would be UT, that's not the case. I know for certain that they're are several personal reasons that have kept Jon from going to UT when previously offered, he's not interested in them at all, that I know.

I don't have anything against Tennessee but do you not find it funny that today was the first day Gruden was rumored by national media to be connected to the Arkansas job, and ESPN was quick to put out a statement, they are not going to be scooped on a story on one of their own, they had to pour some water on the fire before the story is broke by a competitor.

With all that being said I know it's done, I keep quiet about it and don't say much or try to convince others of what I know, because crow is a dish best served cold, so I'm not going to heat it up for anyone!"

Notice that people who matter and put their reputation at stake have been saying Tennessee, Tennessee, Tennessee. Clay Travis said Kentucky and Florida fans are the dumbest in the SEC but Arkansas fans are the most delusional. Chris Mortensen said Gruden has interest in Tennessee and he doesn't know where Arkansas fans come up with this stuff.

That's just two people but there are about a dozen.

1st, Arky fans said they had him in the spring, then they said he would be announced last week, now they're pushing it back even further.

Their AD fully expects to make their next head coach the highest paid coach in America. I seriously doubt its Gruden but word is that Arky has their man and the BOT have agreed to 6M per year for the new HC.

I went down to watch us play them last November and was flat out shocked at what I saw. I expected something akin to Starkville, and came away blown away at the money in the area. Many Fortune 500 companies are based in Northwest Arkansas besides Walmart.

I was also able to see their facilities upgrade that is currently in motion and can tell you its amazing. They are in the middle of a 300 million dollar facilities upgrade.

Who knows if the rumors of them having their guy signed are true, but many down there seem to believe they have a chance at Gruden and if nothing else they are willing to drive up the bid for his services.

I promise you if you wanna spend a little time to do the homework you will see they easily have the ability.

Duck Dynasty ain't got chit on some of the billionaires that duck hunt in Stuttgart!! There is serious money in Arkansas....trust me.

But they aren't gonna get in UT's way.

I'm sure Arkansas had made an offer, but the people who would know (Mortensen, Morris) are talking about Tennessee, not Arkansas.

Now, wouldn't you think that Gruden has more contact with guys like this, and they would know his interest as opposed to beat-writers and whomever else from Arkansas?

Why are you even seriously discussing this? All your worrying is doing is giving the Ark board more encouragement to push our buttons. I think Arky is a fine program, but if they somehow could pull it off, it would be because the UT administration screwed this up so badly that it would be obvious as to how little they value us, the fanbase.

I wouldn't blame Gruden at all, but I'd never donate another dime to the university if they let Gruden go to the Hogs.
