Arkansas rumors

Notice that people who matter and put their reputation at stake have been saying Tennessee, Tennessee, Tennessee. Clay Travis said Kentucky and Florida fans are the dumbest in the SEC but Arkansas fans are the most delusional. Chris Mortensen said Gruden has interest in Tennessee and he doesn't know where Arkansas fans come up with this stuff.

That's just two people but there are about a dozen.

Mortensen is from arkansas as well...

Hogville also swore up and down their "sources" said Dorial Green-Beckham was a lock. I'll believe it when i see it

Should we be worried about Arkansas? Heck yeah but about Strong not Gruden. If no Gruden, first choice is Strong but Louisville has already said they would match any offer.

But since when does it matter if a coach has ties to a place? I very seriously doubt Gruden had ties to the Raiders or Bucs.

I would love to see which coach that we have EVER paid 3mil for let alone 'no limits, we can't be outbid'. Well, that is, well, hogwash. Hart said himself that this will be difficult and we ONLY had 1.9 in reserve. Not much you can do there and would solely have to mooch off boosters.

I have read that Arkansas will make their new coach the highest paid in college football which makes me wonder if they got Gundy away from T.Boone? We Can't make our new coach the highest paid on CFB. That is facts.

100% not worried about Arkansas.

Some numbskull Piggy fan (probably from Grudenville) texted in to Sports 56 in Memphis this morning and said "Do not be surprised if Jon Gruden takes the Arkansas job." Lapides, Tillery, and Wolo laughed it off and called it a pipedream to Piggy fans. I thought that was funny.

It's sort of strange that blleding has been pushing Petrino so hard to coach the Vols. Oh wait, he's a swine fan, so actually it's not.

from the arky insiders. they are confident they have gruden.

"Between April and the A&M game Long was given Gruden's agent # four times and Jeff Long never called him! Two weeks before the A&M game Lindsey, Tyson, and JD From April till the A&M game Long was given Gruden's Agents # four times and never reached out to him. Two weeks before the A&M game Lindsey, Tyson, and JD got the ball a rollin and then Jerry Jones the weekend of A&M! Jerry Jones sent his jet to Tampa and brought Gruden to Kyle field and they met that weekend and went over his demands and a contract that weekend and Monday (MNF was @ Dallas). Jeff Long was handed this and pretty much forced to make this hire, reports that week said that Gruden would be willing to listen to Arkansas! All of the updates since then that Duckman and HogsIn are pretty much spot on! The deal is done and shortly after Jeff Long got his ext and raise of almost twice his salary (after this horrific season)! Be patient and thank Duckman and HogsIn for updates from some inside sources that are credible! Otis Kirk, Trey Schaap, or whomever can't reveal their sources, that is how you keep getting info!! Been quiet, but tired of skeptics when we all can be happy and celebrate when this is announced! WPS #CJMFG!!

That's literally the dumbest thing I have ever read. Yes, Gruden begged Arkansas to hire him and then the AD had to be forced to accept the deal. What a bunch of morons.

Whys that, because I am not plagued by tunnelvision? I ve been a vol fan for 20 years. I just give credit where its due and I dont wear blinders....

Loser....:hi:

Check this out...

He at least could have spelled his username correctly. What does blleding mean?

What other poster from Arky loves to end posts with three periods?

from their board

"That I believe 100%. And to the General, I listen to UT Sports Radio when I'm bored just to see whats going on, lots of doubters that Gruden is coming, our media here after conferring with their sources are on board with the hire, people here have heard its been a done deal for a while, only in state media have been reporting this, the national media is under the assumption that if Gruden were to return to college coaching the obvious choice would be UT, that's not the case. I know for certain that they're are several personal reasons that have kept Jon from going to UT when previously offered, he's not interested in them at all, that I know.

I don't have anything against Tennessee but do you not find it funny that today was the first day Gruden was rumored by national media to be connected to the Arkansas job, and ESPN was quick to put out a statement, they are not going to be scooped on a story on one of their own, they had to pour some water on the fire before the story is broke by a competitor.

With all that being said I know it's done, I keep quiet about it and don't say much or try to convince others of what I know, because crow is a dish best served cold, so I'm not going to heat it up for anyone!"

Now their justification is that ESPN made a statement that Gruden is committed to MNF because some reporter said that Arkansas was willing to get in a bidding war with UT. Arkansas thinks every coach is like Bobby Petrino and is just a hired mercenary. Quite the contrary most coaches consider ties to the university, education and quality of the state, team's talent, etc.

Their insiders are as confident as our insiders. Someone's got to be wrong lol.

What's your definition of an insider. It's different than mine. Arkansas media types, please don't go there. Most have shown they know nothing like the vast majority of Tenn insiders. I have never thought Gruden would coach at Arkansas, I don't think he'll end up anywhere again. It sure is nice to have that ego stroked with all the clamoring going on about it. Coaches have huge egos. Keeps them current and relevant as well.

I giggle at the notion that Tenn has better facilities. About the only thing that will differentiate the two will be architecture and the overnumber of seats in football related areas by next fall. Some of you need to leave Tennessee more often. I like the renovations at Neyland but come one, it's still just the size and some many other schools have neared that 100,000 capacity area, it's not that big of a deal. With the planned NEZ expansion of Razorback Stadium, it'll go beyond 80,000.

I really like Tennessee, it was my second college choice behind my home state's land grant. Like I've said, I've lurked for 5 years but the silly misconceptions of Arkansas is silly and I'll be the first to call out an Arkansas fan's silly attempt to do the same.

I've always thought, and what real insiders will tell you, is that Arkansas wants someone with Texas ties. Experience in recruiting the state being the key thing and I'm willing to say that the next coach will have that in the resume. I also know that Jeff Long has aready likely secured this guy and it's still very tight with only a select few that know who it is. I know personal friends of BOT members and they say they don't even know. The President of the U of A has let Long do this completely on his own. This could all be wrong cause there's not one person out there that knows for sure.

All I know is that Dooley was down the food chain in the last search, but guess what, Bama missed on a couple(Rich Rod) before coming back around to Saban.

Is your nickname Pig Duck?

Again with the "..."s in your two other posts.

Is this? Could it be? Just maybe? Duckman?

Do Arkansas fans know the new facilities we have?

I am very aware of what you have.

Are you aware of what Arkansas will have. To tell the truth, you have caught up with a couple of aspects that Arkansas had on you and Arkansas is about a year behind on construction of what will be basically very similar facilities. I mean it's like you're punch drunk from the over the top marketing jargon that the official video previews pump out to the loyal masses seeking donations. The Thunderdome of weight training, that's funny as hell.

It's nice to see what Arkansas did 10 years ago being copied. An example would be the new weight room being open to the outdoor and indoor practice fields.

Pretty solid out of Arky they have signed someone. No idea who it is. They are saying whoever it is will be making 6M
and will be announced a week from Monday.

I guess their announcement will tell us the first of who we can mark off as potential coach.

When are you going back to your real life on the Hog board and stop trying to sell us that Gruden is looking at Arky? Soon hopefully.

It doesn't matter what you build or how pretty it is as long as it's located in Starkville I mean Fayetteville Arkansas your recruiting will suck. It would take a 51% share of Walmart stock to get Gruden to live there.
