I expect she'll be punished in some form, and deservedly so. She disgraced the flag, disgraced her uniform, and disgraced herself.

In this age of social media, I believe there should be some type of restraints put on "selfies" while in uniform. Express yourself in your civvies, not while wearing the uniform of your nation.

I shouldn't be surprised but I confess I am...I guess your focus when it comes to civics is the second amendment and your right to 'bar' arms, your 'check' and the government cheese program of course...

You have me confused with someone else. I said at Ft Campbell if you were around post HQ you had to get out of your car.

Have to remember this is he Army which does things a bit differently.

And I did check up on it and apparently it's a base by base thing in the USAF on whether you are to exit a parked vehicle. There is no governing AFI or AFMAN guidance on it save what to do if the vehicle is in traffic. However, at least two of the bases I've been at state you have to get out of a parked vehicle and render the customs and courtesies.

She should have gotten out of her car.

I hope her squad leader smokes the sh!t out of her. If it was my soldier, I would make her extra duty time after her field grade article 15, nightmarish. She freaking knew better. No excuse at all. There is a completely different standard for soldiers for rendering military customs and courtesies. I am surprised she was dumb enough to post this. Without a doubt she is going to get hemmed up and rightfully so. Dumb privates!

All 600-25 covers is that after the last note of retreat is played that either the anthem or "to the colors" will be played. There isn't anything on how to observe it from a base level.

the thing that bothers me,is that she is posting it on the internet and seems to be proud ,it isn't like she is the first to stay in a car or duck into a building,that part doesn't bother me

mmmm government cheese,it is really fine,i had a friend give me some years ago,it was really good ,sign me up for some if it is still that good :)
