Arnett Officially to Michigan State

I'm glad for him. Don't really care about the circumstances. Hope he does really well unless we meet them in a bowl game, which might be very possible this year. Don't think he would have gotten many touches in Knoxville either.

Yup. Stacked behind our big three and our tight ends, he wouldn't have got many catches.

Good luck to him.

Whats funny, goober?

He would have been our fourth (maybe fifth) best wideout. 15 catches on the year, tops.

I understand you REALLY REALLY wish that his exit would have hurt us more. But it was not to be, he's Scrubbsville compared to what we have.

I'd guess he heard about Cordorelle coming and said screw that.

He would have been our #2 receiver at worse by time he was a JR. though.

DA was and is a baller and would have been great for us to have. IMO.

Bench warmer if he stayed here. He knew it. He was scared. Left like a little girl. Glad he is gone.

I can't stand a quitter. That is all.

I am sure De is a good guy, but the way he played the social media against The UT to get released (when I believe he was going to get it all along) earns him a: Want to see Rod Wilks meet him over the middle.

not sure why some are mad at him
and please save me on the commitment garbage, its not like he enlisted in the military
there is no outcry when dooley does 'manages' the roster and some kids are told they are no longer.
besides the scholly are one year contracts and he played his on year.

best o luck to the kid. i wish he didnt leave think there was a place for him his jr year

I for one am sorry to see him leave. When he got a chance he made some pretty big plays. I think he would have been special for us after Darick, Hunter, and Patterson left.

I don't think he handled his transfer well, but he's just a kid. I don't think you can expect everyone to have a public relations team on their side. I hope he does well at M-State, unless we play them of course.

Now you see, HERE is a post I can stand behind.

He gave you all he had last year. He had personal issues all year and I believe that inadvertently caused a few problems with team chemistry as well. He came from a rough place, with some family issues and I dont think any of us can truly understand.

I dont like the way it went down either. It is a shame that either side had to be treated that way. I think he wanted to leave with good memories, and be able to look back fondly on his year as a Vol. That didnt happen and he has to shoulder some of the blame.

And, while I understand the UT stance on the transfer issue, they didnt exactly handle it like a well oiled PR machine either.

The biggest part to me is, this is the chance you take when you recruit nationally. Some kids thrive when they are away from home, some kids dont. That doesnt make them less of a person, and it doesnt mean they tried any less. The kid gave you all he had, and his circumstances just wouldnt allow him to stay.

I wish the kid well. I wish he had stayed here, because I enjoyed watching him here. And whether you want to admit it or not, the kid would have been a solid contributor this year, and a star in the future.

It is what it is, and thats just the way it is.

Glad he lied his way out of UT. best of luck to it.

His dad is on dialysis 3x a week,
He had heart surgery during the past season.
He is on the kidney donor list.

Those 3 things were not the case when Arnett signed with UT.

Bare minimum facts. I could go on, but this stuff is history anyways.

Competition didnt bother him

lol

he is a coward. However, he is not stupid.

He had a very miniscule chance of ever being a starter here, and he knew it.

MSU is where he belongs, and good riddance. He was a cancer to the team, and we're lucky to be rid of him. All he would have done all season is whine and cry about not getting playing time.

However, I wish him luck at MSU. He's a sub-par receiver in a sub-par program now.

A perfect fit.

You're a very convincing liar.

Speaking of people whining and crying...

His dad is on dialysis man. There are things far more important in life than football, this is one of them. It isn't like we don't have other quality backups that can take his place. We've got guys coming in this year that can play the same role he played last year.

From what I read his father was in the exact same health condition when he signed his LOI to Tennessee to when he went and whined to yahoo sports about it to try to get a release. So in other words he wasn't happy with his decision and had a good enough way of gettin out of it without it looking like a kid who was just unhappy with his decision.

Some of you are idiots. The kid changed his mind. His dad was sick, the WR Coach that recruited him left, so he wanted to leave as well. He played hard for us last year and gave us what he had. I wish him the best and hope he has a great career. He took a chance on coming down to K town and, in the end, it didn't pan out. How many of us try stuff and it doesn't pan out? Lord knows I have. I can't believe grown ass people are acting this way over a 18/19 year old kid. of course he didn't handle it well, HE"S 18!

This may be for another discussion, but the system is so rigged against the players. Coaches can come and go as they please. Scholarships can be pulled after a year. Why is it hell on earth for kids to transfer after a year, when that same scholly could be pulled from them at any moment? i think they should be able to transfer after each season if they want. Coaches can. In my opinion, if scholarships are given on a per year basis, then after that year in which the kid has performed his duties he should be free to go. Anywhere he wants. No questions asked. That only seems fair to me.
