It could have stopped it sooner or added to the fatality list. I would imagine most people in that movie theater weren't trained marksmen. I personally don't think more guns is the answer to such a problem. I know many on here will disagree. I'm more concerned how somebody like this slips through cracks and doesn't get the help he needed. Surely there were signs that things were a little off with him.

It was a well planned ambush. The guy was wearing dark clothing in a dark room, with tear gas being used and hundreds running around I doubt the shooter could be quickly identified.

YV and others have been clear that it's speculative what exactly would have happened had there been armed patrons there. It's a bit intellectually disingenuous on your part to not acknowledge it is speculation on your part that lives might not have been saved by private gun owners.

Upshot; you're in no more position to say privately carried guns wouldn't have helped than those stating otherwise. Having said that we KNOW that there was only one armed person there and he was the bad guy. I don't like those odds.

If I understand correctly, he walked in with a ticket in black clothes, red hair... the joker.

after entering theater and movie starts, he goes out exit to his car, propping exit door. He suits up and re enters thru exit.... tear gas and shooting commence.

I wish they would start making examples of these people. There is no doubt he done it, he should be executed immediately. The people of CO will probably have to pay to house this SOB the rest of his life.

One part of me doesn't want a government with the legal ability to kill.

The other part of me looks at how many lives this jackoff ruined, and feels that a suitable punishment should be the ruination of his life. He stole the right from others, so he does not deserve his own.

I hear ya, its an issue alot of people struggle with. I would like to see stiffer penalties for all violent crimes. We don't need any new gun laws, we have way too many as it is. Its ridiculous that someone can get the death penalty as a young individual and die of old age on death row.

In Illinois they have already banned face paint and props at HS playoff games --- this is next for Americans like it or not -- Halloween come once a year
