I would think there would be a tax issue with running a payment through a non-profit entity. Possible money laundering issues also. I hate to be the one to go here, but some or the most squirrely transactions you'll ever see involve churches without adequate financial oversight controls in place.

Kinda like Season 4 of The Wire when Prop Joe had Marlo Stanfield funnel his drug money through neighborhood churches and fake non-profits. Good times.

Not a recruitment, but a few years ago, after things started going wrong for Maurice Clarrett, he started claiming that he had been receiving money and other benefits. Then, multiple former players also claimed they had received similar benefits. The NCAA looked into it, but they eventually said OSU was in the clear.

Except for that "Booster having contact with recruits" thing. That is frowned upon. Why would Cam or his Pa talk to that Booster when there had been no contact?
That's ONE of the stories that I am hearing.
