Pearl's had success everywhere he has been, so history is on the side of him turning Auburn into a good program. Will he have the success he had here? Maybe, maybe not. But I expect him to have more success long term than our current coach.

Someone will suggest that the UT basketball fan base start a petition to go out and get Bruce Pearl.

The UT AD will HAVE to listen to oh, 35,000 or so fans, right? Guaranteed to work........

Ok, I've read through all of this thread so far, and for you people bashing pearl, and the people who want pearl, what are you cuonzonites gonna do or say next year when we are sitting at 10 wins at this time? Pearl can flat out coach, and is ten times better than cuonzo. We struggled to make the play in game in cuonzo's third year, and next year is gonna be a disaster, so that should tell you he can't even recruit. I think we've seen the end of Tennessee basketball for a long time.

This may actually be the best-case scenario, though. Pearl won't be here, but he may be good enough to pressure us into spending for an actual good coach. When we get a Self/Marshall/Kruger type to fall into our laps yet again, hopefully we'll actually pull the trigger.

There are more options than just Cuonzo and Pearl. Who knows when the fanbase will finally understand this...

Congrats to Coach Pearl and Auburn University. Funny how the same NCAA investigators that handled his case made a move to hire him. They probably knew that he was not the main problem in Knoxville.

If you believe in that fairy tale then you had better load up on Pixie Dust. UT will never pay good money to hire the right coach. Just not their style. Mismanagement is!

So Pearl was clean and the investigators that handled his case stack on enough evidence for a show cause, then made a move to hire him?

I hope Auburn slaughters us next year and Pearl can sit back and laugh at us. Another stupid firing that never should have happened. Oh well so goes UT athletics these days.

Pearl could only beat Martin by 4 in TBA when Martin was at Missouri State...So excuse me while I laugh at your statement :rofl: :lol:
