Ok, I've read through all of this thread so far, and for you people bashing pearl, and the people who want pearl, what are you cuonzonites gonna do or say next year when we are sitting at 10 wins at this time? Pearl can flat out coach, and is ten times better than cuonzo. We struggled to make the play in game in cuonzo's third year, and next year is gonna be a disaster, so that should tell you he can't even recruit. I think we've seen the end of Tennessee basketball for a long time.
He lied to the NCAA and told Craft's family to lie. Then he lied again. He did cheat. Quit living in denial.
People saying Auburn will be in the NCAA next year are just delusional. Auburn has maybe one or two decent players.
CJ Watson, Chris Lofton, JaJuan Smith, serviceable Dane Bradshaw and Major Wingate. We will see how Bruce does with the talent in Auburn his first year. Dolt.
Bruce was a bad azz coach who should have done like any other coach and kept lying. He got tossed under a freight train for being more honest than other coaches.
Your entire argument is based off of some meaningless star given by recruitment sights. How about what they do on the court.UT
CJ Watson 3*
Bradshaw 3*
Wingate 4*
Lofton 3*
J. Smith 0*
AU
Wade 3*
Harrell 4*
Shamsid-Deen 3*
Atewe 3*
Griciunas 3*
Doesn't look very different to me. Those UT players weren't considered that great when they were coming out of high school; you're grading them based on what they eventually became and did for UT.
I would also argue that the players they became was due in large part to Pearl himself. So, if he could take UT's 3* recruits and turn them into All-SEC players and/or eventual pros, there's no reason to think he can't do something similar with AU's players that were 3* prospects.
For those of us observing from the outside it'll be very interesting to see the direction the 2 programs take from this point on.
Since in your mind a secondary violation is cheating then Fulmer also cheated and dare I say Pat Summitt cheated. Both committed secondary NCAA violations; heck Fulmer even gave up a scholly or two during his tenure. Cheaters I tell ya, cheaters... off with their collective heads...
I think most (including the AA) would look the other way on a violation even multiple violations, assuming you handled the fallout properly.
But given the chance to just admit to violation he chose the unethical route which not only included himself but several others. That's where he crossed the line and completely changed situation. He screwed up and did the time for it.
Please explain what makes Bruce Pearl a sleazeball. It's easy to say someone has no morals but can you back that statement up? He made a mistake and lied about it. Have you ever lied? Do you have morals? To keep running the he's a liar up the flag pole is ridiculous. Had the NCAA not made an example of him nobody would give two ****s that he lied to them.
Nope. Not even close. The only reason he was fired was because he lied. He probably could have kept his job if he would have just came clean.

I guess Wade can shoot just as good as CJ because they both have 3 stars beside their names.
