Bad Beats, Monster laydowns...Poker discussion

Didn't do well. finished 10th, and got killed in the cash game after the tournament
Alex Brown the former Gator and Bear, put me out
He ended up finishing second

Went out of the final table tonight after a 3-table game to pocket aces+1 on the board. I was holding the other, suited with another face card. If you have to go out, that's the way to do it, I guess!

Wow..
What type of advertising will the players wear on there shirts and hats, and who's going to buy all that air time for TV advertising

Playing at our Clubhouse..
There's about 18-20 guys from the community, and we've had qualifying tournaments once a month since January to raise the entry fee and establish the final table

Yea, I just keep telling myself, I've beat them all before, when I won one of the earlier tournamnets..
I just have to stay patient, I'm not a very good Poker Player, because I want to play every hand

No trip to Vegas....
The #3 player took me out...

He ended up winning, so he's getting his entry fee paid..
2 other guys are going to pay there own way in, so I'll have 3 people to follow, and hope they can make it deep into the tournament

Anyone going to WSOP this year?

I was there a couple of years ago. Didn't play any bracelet events but played a side event and a lot at the V and the B. Its a lot of fun, seeing all of the pros and what not. Tons of action.

I've got a couple of neighbors playing in it, so I'll start checking in on them after the first couple of days

not going to make it out though

Played a game last week with some friends. $20 buy-in. Ended the night with $191. Not too shabby.

However I was pissed that both of my best hands of the night didn't get paid off. Turned a straight flush and flopped a boat. Slow-played both of them. Won almost nothing. God that was frustrating.

thanks for posting
I'll have to check that link when I get home, it's blocked at work...

I know 3 guys that went out to play, so I'd like to see how their doing

I think there is an official WSOP link somewhere, but I couldn't get any info from it. It might not be updated until all groups have completed day 1.

Took a terrible beat last night.

Me with JJ on Q J 3 flop. He has QQ and it all goes in. Pot was over $2k.

heard from ome of the three guys from my neighborhood, that went out and played.

he made it to day 3, but was the short stack, so he waited for a good hand..

finally got pocket queens as the big blind, goes all in..only the small blind stayed in with J-6

flop, the SB gets a jack..jeff still feels good with the queens..

river card's a 6, so he's out...

still said it was an awesome experience, he went out on the first day last year

Last night I played a game with some guys I work with. $20 buy-in, re-buys allowed. 6 people played, I left with $180. My biggest win of the night came on a J-9. I raised pre-flop to $3 on the button. The flop was 7-8-10 rainbow. Golden. 1st to act bets $5. 2nd raises to $10. I go over the top (as the big stack) all-in. Both call. 1st guy had top 2 pair, 2nd had 6-9 for the low straight. I made off with about $90 on that pot.

The odd part about last night was that twice someone folded eventual quads pre-flop (in a span of 3 hours)
