Baltimore Unrest

Last month was rough. Real rough.

Short version:
A 3 year old little boy walked out in front of me and I was able to get stopped. There was 6 feet between him and my front bumper.
I thought I was ok. (Mentally). But I wasn't. I woke up twice with cold sweats and screaming in my sleep. I know it sounds like I'm a wimp and I may be, but I couldn't shake it.

A week later my wife finds out she's losing her job. The company is eliminating her position. So she's on the hunt. We are going to have to move. Very few company's around here pay well. She has submitted her resume to a large company in Chattanooga, I'm hoping this pans out, I'd love to get back on Tennessee soil.

Then they send her to California for the week. For (catch this) training. Lol

Glad everything is okay.

I knew by sending you daily noodz you'd come to your senses and rejoin the conversation.

I think the Monarchy oppression of the 1700's and before were way, way worse than any oppression we have here in the USA.

Feudal Europe oppression can't compare to what some perceive as oppression today. Some aspects of it are alive and well mostly in Muslim countries and communist countries; killed because of religion, political dissension, jailed for religion/political dissension, etc.

As far as Gray goes I believe most right wing folks are less quick to come to the defense of someone with a lengthy criminal background. I for one wouldn't. We also still don't really know what happened.

None of these people were innocent either. When cops kill someone totally innocent, thats what bothers me. I don't see that often. Last year in Orlando cops opened fired on a guy outside a club, missed him, but killed a girl who was in a club. Nothing happened to the cops. They actually pinned the murder on the guy they didn't shoot. Thats disturbing to me..but you'll never hear about it on the news because the cops were hispanic and killed a hispanic. No real race angle for the media to run with on that one.

But the founders weren't living in feudal europe. They were mostly concerned with a government that violated castle doctrine (which is constantly violated in the name of the war on drugs) and didn't afford them proper representation.

But all that stems from feudal Europe. Owning property without having to have been birthed into the right family was a big deal.

I think not violating castle doctrine is good in theory but not applicable in reality. Like pull cops out of all high crime areas for a week..maybe a month..see what happens.

Apparently you are not a conservative.

My dr actually said those were good for me. Normalcy. Get things back to the way they were.

Good, because my next recourse was to start sending the ones I got from Hog.

Which are often mistaken for a shriveled up prune so it might have caused some confusion.

It's not a shriveled up prune, I just can't find a camera with a wide enough angle lens to capture the full size.

What are you talking about? You're trying really hard to derail. I didn't say anything about "burning the constitution". I didn't say anything about the cops being charged or not being charged. It's all about how conservative America reacted to what happened with Gray. You don't have to lynch LEOs in order to be in tune with the support of small government, individuals, and ultimately conservatism.

A lot (most?) conservatives looked for every opportunity to paint Gray as a deserving villain. They tried so hard to defend big, oppressive government. OK, you want the police to be charged now, but that's not what I'm talking about. Whether or not it was a total accident and no officers deserve criminal charges, this is still a blow against conservative values. Americans should not die at the hands of government, for no good reason.

Holy f'ing crap are you dense!

You will never talk about what I am talking about, so see ya.

If you just want to say a bunch of random stuff, don't quote me and pretend like you are responding to me.

Also, I am not a progressive. I am more of a true conservative than most people here. Keeping it simple, I'm libertarian (which Ronald Reagan said is conservatism).

Nah.

The right isn't standing up and burning flags and protesting because we are tired. We are tired of looting, we are tired of having white guilt shoved in our faces on a daily basis, we are tired of paying huge tax bills and seeing nothing in return, we are tired of supporting people who have nothing better to do than protest, we are tired of being chastised by progressives like you when we stand up for innocence in the face of popular opinion, we are tired of being told that our 2nd amendment rights are wrong, we are tired of being told it's right to kill babies and wrong to kill murderers, we are just f'ing tired. So get off your damn, fight picking, soapbox and leave Louder and others alone that just don't want to hear your 88ish screeching.

I would be "protesting" too. From Reason...I can post the link later.

Baltimore has a history of such trumped-up charges. A 2006 class action lawsuit backed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) cited "a pattern and practice" of bogus arrests for minor, often vaguely defined offenses such as loitering, trespassing, impeding pedestrian traffic, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and failure to obey a police command.

Of 76,497 people arrested by Baltimore police without warrants in 2005, the lawsuit noted, prosecutors declined to charge 25,293—nearly one out of three. According to the state's attorney, those cases were "legally insufficient."

The arrests nevertheless had real consequences for people who were publicly kidnapped by armed agents of the state, strip-searched, and placed in "small, filthy, and overcrowded cells" for hours or days. In addition to the humiliation, degradation, and loss of liberty inflicted by this process, the ACLU and NAACP noted, victims of illegal arrests "may lose their jobs or be denied job opportunities in the future as a result of the permanent stigma of having a criminal charge on their record."

What are talking you about? Leave Louder alone? He came at me and I was not insulting.

Why aren't you tired of the police wasting your money? Why aren't you tired of the war on drugs wasting your money?

Be a man and participate in intelligent conversation. Stay on topic. I know it's really hard.

Protesting or rioting/looting? There is supposed to be a difference.

I wouldn't destroy private property (or steal it). Come on now.

But now we're back to square one....protesting false arrests, police brutality, etc...by destroying private property...sounds JUST like the Boston Tea Party, except their issues seem more important than a tax.

Comparing the Boston Tea party to what happened in Baltimore is asinine. You might want to brush up on your history and import export (shipping) laws of the time.

You sure don't object much when people do though...

Classic deflection. Saying theft is bad is a waste of time in here. Everybody knows it. Pointing out the tea partiers did the same thing is a revelation to some. I focus on making points that will make a difference.

A tea tax. Sounds like spoiled brats throwing a tantrum to me. We are talking about liberty, false imprisonment, police brutality, etc. In Baltimore.

It was a strike at the king since the King profited directly through royalties, licenses and yes taxes.

Just stop.
