Barnes replacement?

Dan Hurley probably won't leave Connecticut for Tennessee but every athletic director has a coaching list in his or her desk and it would be interesting to know who could be on White's list when Rick Barnes does decide to retire.
“Dan Hurley probably won’t leave the best basketball program of the last quarter century to come to Tennessee”

You think?

And the years he had all his star players and still didn't do ****? You Barnes blowers will defend anything just to stay as irrelevant as we ever were.

And you "FAHR BARNES" people don't do anything but shout about how we need a new coach. I've yet to see one of you actually address any point given to you without you just repeating the same s*** you shout over and over.

If you want an actual adult conversation about the flaws of Barnes and the realities of the situation we're in, then pretty much any "Barnes blowers" are game. If you're just going to stomp your feet and whine, then go pound sand because you're bringing nothing to the conversation.

So sad this has happened to our fan base. It’s either worship Rick or fire Rick.

You didn’t read my post and your reply makes no sense in response to it. A coach who does what he has done with those resources and talent would do more, not less, with more resources and talent. Pretty basic.

Maybe, maybe not. That is never guaranteed.

Maybe. Tom Crean made a Final 4 at Marquette, then flopped at Indiana. Shaka Smart made a Final 4 at VCU, then flopped at Texas.

You can’t assume sending a coach to a bigger school means he’ll have more success. There are too many examples to the contrary.

Bingo. Not only does that coach move up to more talent on his team, but he moves up to face more talent and better competition from other teams.

I'm frustrated with Barnes, but this ain't it. FAU is legit this season, but one season of success doesn't equal winning in the SEC.

Anthony Grant was a hot name at VCU and was thought to be a sure home run hire by Alabama and he did nothing.

Anthony Grant had Buzz Peterson written all over him. He followed a coach who had built something and then did less with it but still parlayed that into a big time job.

I think you understand basketball less well than you think. I guess FAU also just got lucky against K State? More likely you never played a second of sports in your life.
Lol….first of all, I’m not necessarily talking game by game. These magical runs can and will happen the majority of time with these mid major teams. Btw, I’ve played, coached, and trained more players in my life than years you’ve been alive. Usually when people use the line you did, they speak from experience. Enjoy your negative “life is deep” outlook on life. I’m sure that will work out for you. Go Vols and enjoy complaining about Barnes until he decides on his own to leave or retire. Would be better off for you to find a new team each year to root for.

You omitted the fact that Smart is now at a basketball power and made it one round less than we did this year.

No sane fan would want to take a chance on sucking just because you don’t like Barnes play style.

That’s the most ignorant thing I’ve read in this forum.

I have probably been a Vols fan a lot longer than you have, so I'll let you know when I need your approval to root for them.

Go ahead and list what Barnes has accomplished here that Jones didn't.

Two conference championships and two Sweet Sixteens while running a clean program and representing the university with dignity and integrity. In my book that beats winning some third tier bowl games and the Battle of Bristol.
