Bashing needs to stop

You got to love the guy's energy... and that does sell with good recruits. And I want to believe that what we've seen is just discipline to some master strategy that will turn things around. I just see no signs of it... and it doesn't help that those who disagree cannot give any good reason for believing these guys are SEC caliber coaches.
I'm not gonna lie, my current opinion of Jones is based more in hope than anything if he goes the way of Dooley in his second year that will change. Our opinions of the staff are not far off.

Yes, it was before USC.

Bama game did not surprise me. Neither did Auburn, terrible matchup given what they do and our deficiencies.
The Auburn margin is VERY troublesome.

I always thought Vandy was a toss up. Palardy hits the fg he missed, then the last one is not a fake to go up 9.
Vandy loss was not shocking to me.

I am always "shocked" when the coach I want to put my trust and hopes in loses to a team with inferior talent.

Talent advantage is not much over Vandy.

Same coach beat a USC team with superior talent.

I saw the Auburn thing coming from a mile away.

Yes. By any measure, it really is. Jones was outcoached and that was nowhere near Franklin's best effort.

Might want to take another look at that USCe roster. I looked at their roster holes and youth in critical predictions well before the season started and said that was UT's best chance at an upset.

I knew they were more talented than most here... but nothing to justify the largest loss margin in the history of the series.

That sucked.

Bigger issue, a former DB playing QB. You seen our defense against speed over the past 3-4 years? I had.

I expected to give up yrds and points to them. The coverage teams were down right sickening and embarrassing. We may not beat them by just covering the kicks but we don't lose by 32 either.

No it isn't.

I thought USC was our best chance too. Still vastly superior talent. Check their win totals for past 3 years. Phenominal win.

Speed kills, especially when opposition is really slow.

ST performance was dreadful. No argument.

That said, their offense could have scored anytime they wanted.

Two circus catches constitutes outcoaching someone? Those were two good games. I felt like the team and coaches were making some positive strides. But then what happened? What did the coaches do after USCe that validated that game?

Not sure what you keep mentioning Gruden for. I never got caught up in that hype.... and was never convinced he would be good for UT.

What happen after USCe was us playing alabama with a qb that had a broken thumb, replaced by a true freshman. If only we would have shut bama out.....that would have been validation of the previous two games. Right negatroll

I'm a smart guy.

If you are happy with just playing well, so be it.

I understand where we are, thus losses to teams I expected to lose to don't get me all shocked and frantic.

This isn't UT 1997.

If you don't see where this program is then you will be upset because your unrealistic expectations are not met.

You'd think the DC would try to account for a QB that had about 10 more pass attempts in 2 weeks than Palardy did last week.

It wasn't a case of not making a play or getting beat by a better athlete either. No one was there. Consistently. That's on the plan or rather lack thereof.

Yea, just like the other 10 DCs that lost to Auburn did.

But oh yea, we have so much more talent than those other 10 teams.

Some SEC school should hire you.

You think having a cogent plan on offense & defense that doesn't try to draw more attention to our deficiencies unrealistic? Tough crowd. I bet you give a pass to this bunch if they shot your dog. Ya know, being a unquestioning supporter and all.

I feel pretty good about my history of prognostications on here.

This is the single most vastly overstated excuse I have seen since I joined this board. Players who are constantly out of position and uncertain... play slow. Players who are well coached and know their assignments... play fast. Any deficiency this team had in outright speed could have been covered or mitigated by good coaching and schemes.

Call it what you want, I am good with my assertion.

And confident upcoming years will show I am correct.

Nah. If we were faster we could recover when out of position.
