Bashing needs to stop

I never denied any of that. You are the one in denial. The coaching this season has been subpar. It may not be next year... I hope not. But this year it has been awful. I am neither an optimiist nor a pessimist. I look at what "is" and try to understand it. UK is not a guaranteed win. Nothing about my "attitude" has caused any of the historic lows this team has hit this year. Coaching... has been a big factor in it.

Do you really want me to list the things this staff has failed to do this year? I'd rather not since that probably wouldn't help much. But it would be things like his decision to "play not to lose" vs Vandy.

I never really thought Gruden wanted to put in the work needed at UT. I never got excited about him like so many others. Every time UT supposedly met a supposed demand... he seemed to come up with a higher bar. He just didn't want to do it.

You just proved my point once again! Playing not to lose, what does that mean? Are you referring to Josh Dobbs? If so, asking a FRESHMAN quarterback to read defenses without his best receiver (North) and throw mid to long passes in the middle of the field you are sadly mistaken! If you didn't notice, Dobbs got 2 interceptions doing just that! Because of the TALENT and DEPTH CBJ was forced to play the game the way he did, can't you see that?
Quit whining and accept the fact we are not that good right now. The way you fix it is to bring in TALENT and change the CULTURE. He has done an OUTSTANDING job in these two areas so far! His coaching a ability won't be known for at least two years, period. Your negativity with regards to CBJ coaching is premature.

One final point, with all due respect to you, I put much more stock on the comments of COMMITS, CURRENT PLAYERS, AND FORMER PLAYERS than you. My guess is they know a little more about the subject than you or I. Your comments do nothing to help us get back to the top. In fact, your comments detract from where we all want to be.

Again, tell me SPECIFICALLY what CBJ should do with regards to coaching Team 117 which we all agree is simply cannot beat the top tier SEC teams? Don't need to hear what he is doing wrong, SPECIFICALLY tell me what CBJ should have done to make this team SEC Champions!!!

Nothing he could have done to make this team SEC Champions, but we don't all agree that this team cannot beat any top tier SEC teams (the players are good enough to win more than they have and be more competitive in loses, but the coaching has been pathetic).
Since you are asking here are 2 very specific examples of what CBJ should have done differently:

1. Should have kept Chaney and Pittman

2. Should have hired a real and proven DC instead of lying about brining in best staff in America.

Are those specific enough for you?

1) agreed

2) lying? Grow up. Leave off the childish rant and I agree with #2 also

Thanks for chiming in as the Negavols just keep on coming. Now let't look at the facts, something Negavols don't like to address. First, if Chaney and Pittman are the next best thing to Neyland, tell me how are they doing in year 1 at their respective schools. Pittman went to a school that WAS ALREADY ON TOP. Chaney went to a school with more talent than us. How's he doing? Second point, best coaching staff in America, you obviously did not not get the main point I made twice or do you simply like to ignore facts. One more time, as simple as I can make it for you, the coaching staff cannot be adequately judged until we bring in some TALENT, period. Your negative attitude is premature, understand? I would say this coaching staff has won four, count me, conference CHAMPIONSHIPS in six years. Granted, not the SEC but it sure is an indicator of what they are capable of despite all the negative football pundits out there.

Was that a specific enough answer for you?

Good post.

Thanksgiving bichfest of repitition still going I see. Grab some casserole. You act like a psychopath when you are hungry.

Specific but WRONG. Chaney and Pittman have already proven they could win with good talent in SEC (last year). They don't have that talent at Arkansas yet, but they will do well again once they get it. On the other hand, the best bearcat staff in America has not proven they can win in the SEC at all (their record in big east proves nothing regarding how their b-cat spread system can work vs SEC - people often compare CBJ with Kelly - how did Kelly do with his system and all the talent he wants at ND when he faced Saban? That is what I think we will continue to see from this staff vs elite SEC - regardless of what type of talent they get.

Jancek & Martinez have SEC history. Bad SEC history.

Time to eat for me but if you think Chaney and Pittman won LAST YEAR it's useless to continue this discussion. I rest my case, I'M HUNGRY and positive about our future ... GO VOLS!!!!!

Chaney and Pittman certainly won their battles (or do you wan't to put the blame for Sunseri failure on them)?
Anyway, enjoy you meal and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Refering to you posting cbj cant coach in the sec. CBJ DID outcoach Spurrier.did you watch the game? Did you watch the Ga game?
Gruden is not coming.....accept it

Actually it was Butch who lost the UGA game. Not our team.

Certainly not spelling...

I thought this previously too...apparently offence is right in this context..since you're revving at about 40 posts per thread, maybe you can memorize a composition textbook and teach in between taking apart and reassembling television consoles :)

I'm pretty dang talented. I could do it.

Butch lost:

Patterson, Hunter, Rivera, Bray, and NC State.

And gained:

North, Smith, Downs, Worleydobbs, and Oregon.

And the dimwits are shocked at the season.

You keep on using that word....

No, it is a slang term for people who always want to be negative, hence "nega," about the coaches an/or players. From reviewing your posts negavol fits you pretty well. For me, I prefer to recognize the challenges but build upon the positives until the coaching staff proves to me otherwise. If that makes me a "sunshine pumper" then so be it! I say it's great to be a Tennessee Vol!

I'm sure that's very helpful. Childish, but helpful.

Do you think fans really influence the team's performance?

Do some of you find that you don't get invites to watch games with other folk? Cause dayum, it never stops. I can't imagine live action. You'd be taking your casserole and natty light out the door.
