BOISE WINS...again

Not gonna happen. Major conference schools have no interest at all in letting mid majors have a chance to beat them for a national championship in football.

All Boise and/or TCU appearing in the title game would do would be to cause the big six conference commissioners and university presidents to cry until tweaks are made so that it won't happen again.

I've come to this realization: investigation by congress is the only thing that will ever force a change.

Michigan State will lose two games before all is said and done.

Their remaining games are against a decent Northwestern team, a solid Iowa squad, Minnesota, Purdue, and Penn State. That's about as easy a schedule of any of the other undefeated teams with the exception of Boise and TCU. Barring any injuries, I don't see any losses.

At Iowa on the night before Halloween is going to be a damned difficult game.

Really? Other than Iowa, the rest of their schedule is terrible.

Michigan State is going to the Rose Bowl.

Iowa and PSU on the road.Just have a feeling they will fade in the end. Would love to see a non OSU team in the Rose Bowl though.

It could. In 2008 the SEC and ACC were pushing for a 4 team playoff, but were opposed by the Pac-10, and Big-10, and later the Big XII, whom possessed the final vote. If the Big XII would've voted with the SEC and ACC, there'd probably by a 4 team playoff system right now.

Furthermore, everyones desperate for money. Everyone. And playoff system projects to be worth 3 times as much(roughly $900 million) annually as the current BCS system. Not many people realize it, but the BCS system is costing programs tons of money. At this point, there's practically no reason to keep it around.

Boise being in the title game could possibly tilt things in favor of a playoff. We can all hope.

Every single university president has known for years that there are a number of playoff formats that, even with very conservative estimates, would blow what the BCS generates out of the water many times over, yet they opt to keep bowls around.

Why do you think that is?

Not everyone is opting to keep the bowls around. The same man that halted the switch from BCS bowls to a playoff is the same man who drove the Big XII into the ground.

But go ahead and say what you we're going to say based on my answer to your question.

It was rhetorical. There's still too much in the way of a playoff and you're right about the rose bowl being a bug part of that. Getting them to release the PAC 10 and big ten champs for the title game alone was a Herculean feat, not to mention surrendering the game itself every fourth year.

The system is corrupt and broken. Old, rich, white men stand to lose too much if common sense prevailed in the bowl vs. playoff matter. Boise will probably get screwed again this year.

as long as the playoff system is only for Conference Champions, dont win your conference you dont get in, Then you can seed your match ups in the bowl games. Let the Rose keep PAC10/Big Ten as first round. Atlanta Gets SEC/ACC....and so forth. This is really an easy thing to set up
I think putting Boise/TCU in title game will be the death of the BCS.

This we DONT need!

The idea that they've played a tougher schedule than UT is certainly crap. Same with all the other SEC teams you've mentioned. Tennessee has played at least 3 teams that would rip anyone Boise has played, and four with more talent than Boise and all Boise's opponents put together.

I'm just presenting you with the mathematical facts.
it's all in that link I posted..I'm not telling myself anything..I just read the findings.

Boise State is good.

I'm sure there's a chance they could stay on the field with any team in the country.

But they play in the WAC, they simply do not deserve a shot at the BCS title game.

There are a whole lot of teams that are trying to show that they are every bit as undeserving as Boise St. right now.
