BOISE WINS...again

Cool story, bro. It's San Jose effing State.

Guess who's been a regular fixture in ESPN's Bottom 10 for the entire season (barring a dominating 16-11 win over D-IAA independent powerhouse Southern Utah).

If BSU and/or TCU gets into the BCSNCG then I hope that will cause chaos and hopefully end the BCS system. So i'm kind of hoping for both of them to play. But if neither get in then good, their schedule hurts them too much.

Heck I won't be surprised to see them ranked number one in the BCS polls.

by all accounts, the rankings this week SHOULD be Boise State 1 Oregon 2 and TCU 3.
Oregon should not move up to #1 on a by week.

In the BCS, you're right. However the BCS is not intended to be correct in the middle of the season.

However, as the BCS is comprised of computers, a coaches poll whose voters don't watch enough football around the country to fill out an educated ballot, and the Harris Poll who gives votes to fine citizens such as the regional manager of Waffle House, it's a total fraud.

Oregon is going to be AP #1 by this time tomorrow.

yeah I know...Oregon has some pretty iffy games coming up...even in the mid/end of the season, IF Oregon loses even 1 game..what would it do the the system to have, even if it is for 1 or 2 weeks, Boise State #1 and TCU #2?
and it is a REAL possibility. and I'm not talking about the Final BCS poll..I'm talking next week and the week after.

Depends.

Maybe during the season, but that's inconsequential. Virtually every statistician who has looked at it has said that the schedules of Boise and TCU to a lesser extent are going to make a real long shot for either to get in to the title game. The Big Ten, Pac-10 and SEC winners are all going to need to lose two, and the Big XII champs will have to have a loss for either Boise or TCU to have even a reasonable hope of making it in.

Ironically what the powers that be will need to be wearing if it is a Boise State/TCU game.

If that happens we may really see a step back and have a rebirth of the Bowl Alliance where teams who are not part of a major conference are barred outright from playing for the national championship.

Wouldn't that be the powers that be admitting a defeat of some sort?

I just read this whole thread.....

My IQ dropped 10 points. No really, the OP just said "told you guys" after Boise waxes some hapless WAC school by 40 points.

Agreed. They're a good team that gets screwed by their schedule/conference, But they will play TCU/Utah in the NCG if the good teams keep playing good competition, which they will.

A BSU vs. TCU championship is what the BCS conference presidents deserve.
Well The BCS set the rules..really look at the polls right now. in the coaches poll you have 3 non BCS schools in the top 10..and only teams in the top 12 can go to a BCS bowl
..as of right now..there 3 undefeated NON BCS schools in the top 10. No Big East team..no ACC team. if the season ended right now...3 non BCS schools in BCS bowls.

The BCS doesn't intend to keep mid majors out of the BCS games. It intends to keep them out of the national championship, and barring a very unlikely series of events, that's exactly what will happen.

Right. And my comment is referring to the lack of a playoff.

So in summation, The grimvol state of the union address.

"Yo, i bleed orange but why you dissin those potato pickers from the west coast? We suck but they are the current martyrs of the non BCS teams and died on the blue turf for your lack of AP vote sins.Statue of Liberty play, Pro Combat unis, by the way we suck. We are horrible, BCS is a sham. Boise State beat the Crabby Lesbains U by 7 touchdowns and took out their starters by the second quarter. Who's laughing now Vol fans? That's right, trick question, we suck"

Well-said.

With Nevada losing, Boise's title hopes are basically boiling down to VA Tech being able to beat GA Tech, @UNC, @Miami and Florida State in the span of five weeks and finish the regular season 11-2. I very seriously doubt that will happen.

At this point, I'm of the opinion of just giving Boise a chance.

Ohio State and Nebraska lost, and chances are Oregon, LSU, and Auburn are all going to drop at least one game. Right now, the teams most likely to finish the season without losses are Oklahoma, Boise State, TCU, and Michigan State.

So... why not? Boise in the title game will be the precursor of the collapse of the BCS bowl system. Kill two birds with one stone. Give them their shot so we no longer have to hear people crying about it the little guys, and kill the BCS. It's brilliant. In fact, throw both TCU and BSU in their for that matter.

With that said, I'd love to see Oklahoma vs. Oregon in the title game.
