Bruce Feldman and Tim Brando criticize the SEC's handling of LSU/Florida

Nope, considering you were the only person on the planet taking that position.

Like anyone could ever know that.

The masses think Dances with the Stars is great, I think that it is overrated as well. I'm fine with not having the same opinion as anyone else.

I think it's becoming clear that UF is not the problem here.

As of today? Or going all the way back to the middle of last week?

I think most everyone was fine with UF not thinking it wise to play it as scheduled in the middle of last week given what was predicted to happen.

But there was no reason that game should not have been played by now. Unless you have something that says UF was willing to play yesterday or even tonite I don't buy UF being blameless at this point.

LSU has done everything except concede the game to Floriduh, and they won't agree to anything. The Commish should have stepped in the weekend of the game!!!

I think most fans feel that way. What threw gas on the fire was the ESPN false information and Stinkey's interview on Saturday which totally misrepresented the facts.

There has been no reason for the behavior in the last week, LSU just needs to move on. Well, I'm out for a bit, I guess we will see where this goes or where it doesn't.

I have no problem with LSU not going to Florida and getting a forfeit if it comes to that. My gut tells me the game isn't being played as there are rules already in place to determine the divisional winner.

I thought this was settled already with the late Nov reschedule?

Nope it's not because LSU would have to play 3 games in 14 days that way. They turned that down. They may come back to it but they turned that down recently due to playing too many games in a short period of time.

Move UF-UGA game up one week, they both have open date.

Then UF and LSU play on LSU open date.

It's simple to do!

so says you...believe AD Aleva and AD Foley beg to differ...:)
Commish Sankey will have to step in or it won't happen...:daddy:

GO VOLS!

Well, this game ain't getting played unless the SEC is pushed back at the end of the year, after Florida has had an extra bi week to get healthy. I don't see any way these goofies get it done, and I know Florida doesn't want to get it done. There has to be consequences here. Florida cannot just autowin the SEC everytime they get a storm. This was done WITH INTENTION for the benefit of florida by florida. Find out who is responsible, issue the appropriate consequences, or give the job to someone who can get it done. As far as I'm concerned The slippery snake in the grass McEwain was in the ear of who ever the AD was for florida...be it Foley, Strickland, or an interim....it would Not surprise me if McElwain was actually doing the decisions and obviously Florida has forfeited their season if that's the case.

It's not petty at all as you rewarding a team for gaming the system. I say schedule it, LSU forfeits and that solves it. Of course, every Vols fan doesn't want that either.

Forcing another team to change their schedule that has nothing to do with the problem is petty. Thats why the SECCG should not be moved either.

To your bold. You are complaining that UF "gamed the system" (which I don't disagree with) so your solution is not forcing them to play the game but get an automatic win? Your previous solution made more sense and it was poor.

For the record, as far as I know... no real dates have been discussed with LSU as far as I know. This November 19th thing came from ESPN, LSU has said any discussion that it turned down that date is a lie.

With that said, LSU would have 3 SEC road games in 12 days, not 14 days in theory. Which is probably why Alleva said they were not going to lose the home game but it might imply that Florida could come to Baton Rouge.

Let me re-phrase the above part in bold. They(LSU) didn't want to use that November 19th date because of playing too many games in such few days. Not that they actually turned it away.

I needed to say it the right way because you're right they haven't turned it down either. They just didn't want to do it that way.

Not true, Alleva held a press conference today just to say LSU would be playing their home game on November 19th.

He also said if the SEC wants LSU to play Florida on their bye week October 29th then he wants Alabama to be made to play that weekend(Oct 29) on their bye also before Al vs Lsu play November 5th.

Yea Alleva just bending over backwards to make this happen. I hate Alabama but why bring them in this? Alleva looks as dumb as Foley in this mess!

Yeah I can see that. My take LSU is leaving the door open for Florida on the 19th if they come to Baton Rouge, although I haven't heard them spell it out that way. Basically, they are leaving the South Alabama buyout talk for another day, whether they would eat that or not.

Florida has no incentive to have any date, they for sure are not going to eat their cupcake money. There is incentive for LSU to get the game in, but not at the expense of the remaining schedule.

We'll see what happens, sounds like this forum has more going on this subject than the SEC from what I have been told. Probably because Stinkey smelled bad on Saturday. That guy must really not want a job.

I'm not sure he said the SEC wanted that, I'll have to go back and check. I thought he said they would not agree to it, like in theory.

Either way, if they set it for October 29th, I say forfeit, get ready for Bama. Obviously though, I have no say so. I say if Florida really doesn't want to play, well, okay let's not play. Just my take. LSU wants the SEC to fall on its sword.... without that... its going to be tough going.

Like I said earlier, they should have just planned on playing the game today/tonight. Plenty of time for people to get back to their homes in Florida. That was the most simple solution & they goofed that one. :eek:hmy::bad:

I know. I actually think its crazy what LSU offered for this weekend even. SEC cray cray.

Exactly what could LSU do? LSU can't force a team to play.

I think you are speaking out of emotion. I can't think of one thing LSU could have done, there is no reason for LSU to cooperate going forward. If this happened to your school, you would be saying the same thing. How about the Vols figure out a date they want to play Florida again, this time in Florida? Winner take all.

I would much rather us play them again

Funny you cut 3/4 of my qoute off and then answered.

And why would you want to forfeit just to play bama?

Edit: Finebaum giving it to Alleva now after his presser today.

No way, if I were LSU, would I want to dump that game in the middle of a tough stretch because the cowards didn't want to play it on Sunday or Monday.

So, forfeit the game LSU stands a better chance of winning to allow for more preparation for a game they will probably lose anyway. Makes sense.

Talk of anyone gaming the system is just rumors.
We have spent a lot of time chatting about how UF doesn't want this game, so they can increase their ATL odds. A counter-argument is that UF would not want to lose their only decent home game this year. Where's the evidence that UF acted in bad faith?

Sankey just needs to say that unless you have played 8 games in the conference you are not eligible for the Championship and leave it to the schools to figure it out. If they cannot benefit from it I bet that it would work itself out quickly and if not then only they lose due to their decision.

Oh My Dear Lawd, how about Florida had every opportunity to play this game and knew they had to play this game and did everything in their power to not play this game? Get a clue, someone at the heart of the decision making process for this game decided it wasn't in florida's best interest to play it. What more do you want?
