I think it's becoming clear that UF is not the problem here.
LSU has done everything except concede the game to Floriduh, and they won't agree to anything. The Commish should have stepped in the weekend of the game!!!
It's not petty at all as you rewarding a team for gaming the system. I say schedule it, LSU forfeits and that solves it. Of course, every Vols fan doesn't want that either.
Nope it's not because LSU would have to play 3 games in 14 days that way. They turned that down. They may come back to it but they turned that down recently due to playing too many games in a short period of time.
For the record, as far as I know... no real dates have been discussed with LSU as far as I know. This November 19th thing came from ESPN, LSU has said any discussion that it turned down that date is a lie.
With that said, LSU would have 3 SEC road games in 12 days, not 14 days in theory. Which is probably why Alleva said they were not going to lose the home game but it might imply that Florida could come to Baton Rouge.

Let me re-phrase the above part in bold. They(LSU) didn't want to use that November 19th date because of playing too many games in such few days. Not that they actually turned it away.
I needed to say it the right way because you're right they haven't turned it down either. They just didn't want to do it that way.
Yea Alleva just bending over backwards to make this happen. I hate Alabama but why bring them in this? Alleva looks as dumb as Foley in this mess!
I'm not sure he said the SEC wanted that, I'll have to go back and check. I thought he said they would not agree to it, like in theory.
Either way, if they set it for October 29th, I say forfeit, get ready for Bama. Obviously though, I have no say so. I say if Florida really doesn't want to play, well, okay let's not play. Just my take. LSU wants the SEC to fall on its sword.... without that... its going to be tough going.
Like I said earlier, they should have just planned on playing the game today/tonight. Plenty of time for people to get back to their homes in Florida. That was the most simple solution & they goofed that one.hmy::bad:
Exactly what could LSU do? LSU can't force a team to play.
I think you are speaking out of emotion. I can't think of one thing LSU could have done, there is no reason for LSU to cooperate going forward. If this happened to your school, you would be saying the same thing. How about the Vols figure out a date they want to play Florida again, this time in Florida? Winner take all.

Talk of anyone gaming the system is just rumors.
We have spent a lot of time chatting about how UF doesn't want this game, so they can increase their ATL odds. A counter-argument is that UF would not want to lose their only decent home game this year. Where's the evidence that UF acted in bad faith?
