Butch Jones quotes after the game:

Oh well, it will be another hard year to be a Vol in Fl. If we could have just come to play? I was sure hopeful Peterman could do something with his chance to play.

I am amazed at the Negativity here. I know I do not post here much but I have been watching this team since the Majors days...... the "IT BETTER HAPPEN NOW OR ALL HELL BREAKS LOSE" is Pathetic. You have seen what we have gathered for talent with 3 coaches in what.. 5 years...... give this man some Time and lets see what happens. We have a great class coming in (I HOPE), lets be realistic about the outcome of this year.

Do not let it bother you. These posters do not have a clue. Ever team has them.

Dooley 2.0

All talk at this point

(not talking about coaching ability)

That is exactly what I said when "bUTch" first arrived. People were excited about the hire, once we got him on campus and heard what he had to say.

I will give it to him. He is saying all of the right things, in an effort to keep the fan base supporting the team. He realizes that he needs about 5 seasons before we hit a bowl game and he knows that if fan support waivers before that 5 year mark, then he may be gone.

The things he says are the things that a salesman would say, at this point.

I believe that he will git er dun but not before 5 seasons. At this point, I think he is the real deal, but I can see through all of his talking for what it is. It is get keep the fans interested. He is buying time, so to speak.

I was an idiot..I thought that Peterman should be starting. I have a grandson playing youth football so I missed the 2nd half. I know the final score so I probably won't watch what I recorded. Did Worley do anything at all or are we just SOL on QB play for the rest of the year?

We lost by less than last year and we were minus CP, Hunter, and Bray.

I fail to see how Butch isn't good enough. Better outcome with less talent.

It chafes me to see the players do so many things well and then lose because the coaches have one thing or another messed up. This game it was Peterman for an entire half. I feel for the guy and not saying that he will never play well, but it was obvious from the first play that he was just not ready for that game.

Worley did some good things, but he needed to play better than he did.

I like what he's saying but in the end it's the results that matter. Honest evaluation won't happen till a few years in

I really don't understand what they expected him to say

"This loss is on me. I made a big decision. I didn't trust the process and what I had seen throughout the Spring and camp. We had a good football team on the ropes in their house, and we didn't execute the maxims because of decisions I made. Our kids played their guts out, and I let them down."

"Nate is a great talent and an important part of this team. I put him in one of the toughest situations you could put a QB in and it was the wrong decision."

"I'm going to continue to get better. Team 117 is going to continue to get better. We are hurting, but we are going to put the hurt on some teams in the coming weeks....."

I thought Worley played better. He made one real bad throw and did not get help from his receivers. At some point someone is going to have to step up and start making the tough catches for him.

He really should stop turning the ball over like that.

....and please Coach Jones for the entirety of your hopefully very successful tenure as Head Coach of my Tennessee Volunteers, NEVER again start a freshman QB in The Swamp.

You also called the CBJ post game quotes as "Dooley 2.0. All talk at this point."

WHAT SHOULD HE SAY?

How about the truth? How about say I don't have the answer at QB? Nobody is looking that great and our talent level is not where it needs to be. So is he going to repeat this same rhetoric every time we lose?

Just want to say that 20 minutes ago I felt pretty bad about this lose. I have been a vols fan along time and don't post much but do read a lot. If you look back a Vandy when Franklin took over we look alot like them in the fact there has been no quiet . I know that sounds bad but his first year one thing we could say was they did not quiet no mater the score. This team is not done yet!

Doesn't make sense, no quiet. It seemed loud to me

Right 4 games there should be instant proof of how great he is... 2 wins he should easily win and 2 wins he should lose by double digits... hey what do you know...

He should not have lost to UF much less by double digits with a back up QB when they hand the game to him on a silver platter. You need to open your eyes.

Thanks 411 I'll keep my mouth shut pertaining to QB issues the rest of the season. I mean as far as starting is concerned CBJ knows infiinitely more than me. I know Butch is a great recruiter and tireless promoter of the program. I'm just not sure how good of a game coach that he is. Time will tell and I will forever bleed Orange.

I like coach jones and think he will win here but i have to wonder how long it will take him to get the dooley stink off of some of these players?

No Dooley would not say that, he would say year zero and scars and we gave up

LOL.... the things quoted aren't all that different.

He said "we played"... not "we coached". Pretty subtle way of "throwing the players under the bus". Of course what he leaves unsaid those looking to excuse the staff here will say.

Scars... baby steps... what's the real difference there? I saw no steps of any kind. If UF weren't so incompetent themselves.... this one would have been almost as bad as Oregon.

Yankee Vol is right on this one. We've heard big talk... we have yet to see any big actions.

Many of you claimed that what you wanted to see was a team that didn't lay down and played disciplined football. Well? That's not what we saw today or last week by a very, very long shot.

Sorry to offend you guys and all that. I want to be hopeful. I want to be positive. But I am flat out tired of big talk followed by excuses.
