Calipari Whining AGAIN!

Cory Anderson was a beast when I was in 8th grade. I thought he was going to be really good...

Yea i grew up playing a couple years under him so i never really played against him in the training league days but he was about 6'0 170 when he was about 12 years old.. he gave me a concussion in football practice in high school one day too

Played against him. He was not even close to being that good.

A good friend of mine got letters from UT when I played with him in HS. He went to Carson-Newman and barely played.

I was district MVP and team MVP ahead of him but got letters from Tenn. Tech and DII schools.

Yea he never really turned out to be anything especially when he blew out his knee.. he had some great potential tho, he had the size the athleticism, skills.. he just needed some coaching and a better attitude.. he thought everything was supposed to come to him.. I remember we were getting beat by Chattanooga Howard, when sir Lee played there, at halftime and he went off the deep end in the locker room at our starting pg at the time and said "I'm the star on this team, if anybody is gonna shoot it needs to be me, dont shoot it again".. that pg ended up shooting it like twice in the 2nd half including two foul shots.. he had the intesity, just didnt know how to use it right

That sounds about right from what I remember.

Calipari is a greasy d-bag. Pearl is ten times the coach he has ever thought about being. Someone please shut him up and this memphis queer that for some reason feels the need to post on here.

It's safe to say with 100% confidence you're a maroon.

Alrighty then.

Do the numbers 76-58 and 66-62 ring a bell?

Yes they do. They helped propel us to an Elite 8 and Runner Up finish. I'll take a loss to the Vols every year for that end result. You see, noboby outside K-ville or Memphis will remember who won a game in December or February 10 years from now. They do remember results in March.

Didn't realize that BP had been to 20 final fours.

Look Calipari is a good coach... he just will never be a great coach. Yes, I know he has had far more success as a coach than Pearl, but he has also been coaching big time basketball for way longer than Pearl. Cal is also situated in an absolute hotbed for recruiting in the Memphis area. Ridiculous talent comes from that area year after year. (I grew up in Memphis.) All I am saying is when Cal and Bruce's teams play each other I would take Bruce anyday. I honestly think Bruce is a better "in game" coach than Calipari is. I believe he makes better adustments throughout the game, and has a better feel for what his oppenent is going to do in comparison to coach Cal. So once again don't freak out Cal will always be a good coach, and I do respect what he has done at Memphis. By the way Pearl's top assistant Tony Jones is in my opininon one of the top assistants in the country. Someone will land themselves a really big hire in the near future.

Can you even remotely support this?

I'm no Cal fan and I do like Pearl, but this analysis is almost pure homerism.

Yes, years later they do remember what happened in March......they remember national championship teams, but not Elite Eight or even runner-ups. You know what "second-best" gets you? NOT a national championship trophy.

By better "in game" coaching are you refering BP's great move in benching the point guard last year and inserting JP Prince against Louisville? That "in game" coaching cost the Vols a Final Four trip. I firmly believe that had UT beaten U of L, they would have breezed past UNC.

Ding ding ding....we have a winner. People only remember the champs. I, however, will always remember Bruce going to Memphis and taking the number one ranking away from the Tigers.

Cal and Pearl are very similar. Cal has had 5 more years with Memphis than Pearl has had here. Not to mention vastly superior rosters

UMass counts, sure. But either way he's had 16 years of NCAA head coach experience total. Pearl has had 7 total.

Not to mention Cal has coached in the NBA

I don't see how number of years coaching matters?

Number of years can be used to spin things either way.

I love BP and am glad we have him but I just don't see how one can say he is better than Cal.
