Hat was literally crying tears of joy on the streets of Memphis two years ago when UT defeated the then number one Tigers. He's as big a Vol fan, if not more, than anyone on here. One doesn't get that emotional for a team that said person wants to lose.

You were dumb to contend his point, which point is a general one that is voiced by more than just him; I share his sentiment, so in that sense it's just as much my 'battle' when you step in and make a lame rebuttal to a statement i agree with.

You're vintage hat with the ignore-and-run idea, and it's wise, because you know any decent lengthy discussion leaves you dumbfounded and exposed.

Pearl out coached Self today. Whether he is the better coach overall is up for debate, but any objective viewer will say Pearl coached a better game than self today.

It truly is the ultimate sign of surrender and childishness, and the satisfaction is, to be honest, too easy to really enjoy, personally. You just end up feeling kinda bad for the dude. I hope he enjoys the win though, it's a great day to be a vol fan.

I guess he loved them more when Buzz was here since he was a better coach, right? I know I like going 12-18 better than going to the tournament every year.

How is beating the No. 1 team in the country meaningless? Whatever happens from here on out, this game is plenty meaningful. It's one that will be remembered for a long time if you're a true fan. I still very much remember the memphis win from a couple years ago. The way that season finished has ZERO bearing on how I felt about that particular game. It's not often a team beats the No. 1 team in the nation, with only six D-1 players for crying out loud. Stop hating and enjoy it!!

I'm pretty sure that he never said that Peterson was a better coach. Some fans are more demanding of their team and would like to see championships instead of flameouts at mid tournament. Nothing wrong with that.

I have never seen a post on VN (from hat or anyone else) that said Buzz was a better coach than Pearl

I like Pearl, but until he proves me wrong, I will be of the opinion that he cannot take us further than the Sweet 16. What makes it worse is that we are paying him for Final 4 type results.

I agree. Amazing that people cannot stop attacking and just enjoy what the Vols and Pearl did tonight. How can anyone not be proud and stop the hate after what just happened?
