Agree, the only school that could approach the 7-8 million per season he will get in the NFL is Texas.

Truth is probably somewhere in between he may have said he would listen n hart n cheek didn't want anything to do with him because of their egos....

Bottom line grud would have been good for us but we got bj boy n the best staff in America from good ol Cincinnati ...... so we have to buckle up n hold on n call the witch doc to whip up a spell that brings ut back....

Stay tuned because nsd is around the corner

This had to be a huge factor....booth job with minimal prep time....vs easily 60 hrs per week as college coach. Betting Mama Gruden laid the law down on this one as well.

Gruden was never coming here, and none of you have sources as evidenced by the Jon Gruden threads. Here's too an awesome 2013 though :rock:

If you and the others can't see how much all the Gruden talk engulfed the season in a negative way that's not my problem. By the end of oct it was already hitting the national media. Dooley's seat went from just being hot to being engulfed by fire which IMO hurt us in Nov. For goodness sake you Grudenites were praying he'd lose so POS Gruden would be coach. Congrats!!

Good post. You are right some were wanting Tenn to lose to make sure Dooley was fired because Gruden was going to be the coach.

Thx. Just don't understand why people can't see how message boards can get out of control. Especially with tweeting and fb when people have easy access to media people. Things get planted and then grow legs. I knew it had gotten bad when meachem (iirc) tweeted out the question about Gruden being the new coach of his vols.

Frankly the thing that pissed me off the most about the whole thing was Hart not putting an end to it in Oct. just like the USC AD after the UCLA game for kiffy. Let the season play out and see what happens. Gruden was an extra burden that Dooley, his coaching staff, and the team did not need this season. Helped make it worse than better.

Just all IMHO that's all..

I wonder how many of these same folks on here who continually attack Gruden would be singing his praise and talking trash about Saban right now if Hart had landed him?

iwhy do we have to continue this coaching search posting. give this new coach a chance and not worry about Gruden not coming here. was never going to happen anyway.
