Chester Brown de-committs due to immigration rules at UGA

In lots of cases, the kid doesn't really have a choice. Kids just go along with their folks. I don't know what happened here, but I wouldn't be so quick to judge him.

Hopefully nobody judges him. He needs to get his crap in order. Until then he's illegal

It's this kind of garbage that's destroying this country. The Indians should have to kick themselves out according to your logic. Sounds like you could use a refresher in history, anthropology, and human evolutionary biology. But then again, this is the new America -- a place where stupidity reigns. It's no surprise that an unknown, big mouth college professor can become president.

Flush the weed down the toilet, pull your pants up, turn your hat around, and act like a damn man.

Dude...it's a song...Icky Thump...the white stripes. Have a listen.

It looks like Tennessee never offered though, so I bet this would be a tough pull even without the other issues

There is a reason Tn didn't offer.I have had the chance to watch this kid for the last 3 years with a friend of mine who is a Dawg fan and he couldn't believe Ga even offered him. This kid would of never seen the field in Ga.High School football in this area is bad and the only good team in the area is Camden and they are nationally ranked and they pushed this kid all over the field.Tn doesn't want this kid.The Revis kid that left Tn that went to UTC was 2X better than Chester coming out of High School.

There were over 11,000 jobs they couldn't fill this fall for picking the crops. Lots of people showed up the first day to work, but I read it was something like 95% didn't show up the second day and most didn't even make it all the way through the first day. The average rate of pay was $10 an hour according to the GA department of agriculture. People were just too lazy to do the work. This was for the fall crops too, so it wasn't even summer when the heat gets to you.

I'll gladly pay a quarter more per head of lettuce and a dime more per peach, potato, onion, tomato etc. This whole argument is rediculous. The reason American's won't do the work is b/c they can stay at home for 99wks and earn roughly the same amount. The truth is that American's won't do that kind of agricultural work for indentured servant wages. That's one of the things that kills me about illegal supporters. They're unwittingly supporting the creation and maintenance of a permanent underclass. The fact that illegals will hang shingles on a 45° roof 30' up without a harness, clean chicken coops for Tysons, sand and paint drywall without respirators, etc for $10/hr, is somehow proof that American's won't do the jobs. :shakehead:

This kid needs to get his paperwork in order if he wants GA residents to fund his scholarship. Contrary to the inscription on the Statue of Liberty, the US taxpayer is not responsible for feeding, clothing, healing, housing, and educating the world. My heart goes out to this kid but his frustration should be directed at his parents not the GA legislature. :twocents:

I'm guessing a Samoan was probably the last kind of fish the GA Legislature was expecting to catch when they cast that net!

I agree with everything you say but not everybody is willing to pay that extra quarter. You also have greedy contractors that will hire illegals because their profit on a project is much higher that way. Supply and Demand.

Yeah, that was before we were 15 trillion in debt and closing hospitals because illegals are using emergency rooms for medical care while the stupid schmendrick Americans are paying for it with higher premiums.

I'm pretty sure the gentlemen who wrote that intended for people to pay their way instead of using fake SSN's and getting paid cash under the table so they can send billions of dollars in remittances to their home countries.

But you illegal apologists are right. I hope the Community Organizer raises taxes. That way, we can make sure the 33% illegal alien population in federal prison are well cared for at the expense of hard-working Americans. Such a shame what's happened to this nation. I guess more and more children are products of outcome-based education.

being pro-immigration and anti-entitlement society are not mutually exclusive

It blows my mind there are people out there who would rather see this American-born kid get deported rather than accept a scholarship that he's put in the time and effort to earn.

Who the **** cares if his parents are illegal? That's a nonissue in this. State law says they can be sent home - so be it, if they entered illegally then that's what the law stipulates should happen. But the kid didn't pick where he was born or how his parents got there. Like I said before - he's taken what he was given and is trying to make a career with it by going to a school he grew up, in America, loving. How can anyone who has a child of their own really agree with that?

This is moronic.

So we are going to screw the kid who's trying to go to college and make something of himself because his parents are illegals?

But the millions of lazy-ass americans living off welfare who were born in the country and have no intent of ever doing anything to better themselves they can stay.

This is why this country is so F'd up.

Let the kid go to college, get a degree or make millions in the NFL. Either way he becomes a tax payor.

Stupid ass law.

Check this quote out from an ESPN article,

"It has been rough on Chester," the Brown family spokesperson said Tuesday night. "He went to school today and he just got bashed from all of these teachers calling him dumb and stupid for decommitting. He came home and just cried. And they don't know the situation."

The spokesperson, who wished to remain unnamed for fear of further hurting the family, confirmed that Brown's decommitment was related to the Board of Regents' policy.

No high school kid should have to go through that.

Agreed...I feel bad for the kid. Maybe it's because I'm an empathetic person, but I can't bring myself to hate on him for a decision his parents made. I'm sorry, but my folks made a ton of bad decisions, and I have suffered for many of them. I don't wish those types of troubles on anyone.

Why, becuase he is in the US illegaly?

If he was born here, he's as legal as you or me. Sure there's speculation he wasn't, but there's another American tradition I'm sure a patriot like yourself understands: Innocent until proven guilty.

Please understand, I hold no ill will toward the kid. I have no clue why anyone would bash him. His parents are Samoan (Western). Not the same thing as American Samoa. So they aren't citizens of the US. If they cannot find proof in the form of a birth cirtificate, SS#, Certificate of Live Birth, etc. then he's not a citizen. The rule is pretty simple. Get a loan and go to college like the rest of us.

Nah - he can't get into a university in Georgia. He'll just get a scholarship elsewhere. Or go JUCO/Prep while trying to resolve the discrepancy - assuming it's just a paperwork issue.

If he were born here, he'd have a birth certificate. Just like getting a job, you have to provide proof of citizenship. I don't see why people are acting like this is such a travesty. If soccer schools were incentivizing illegal aliens to cross the border and get a free ride to college, we'd say what a travesty that was.

No tolerance for crap like this. You dont have a right to play college football, especially if you cant even prove your citizenship.
