CJH just said..

Clemson, Tennessee, Indiana, and SMU should have to write an apology to fans And the cfp
should only be 4 teams in the CFP anyway.........Actually just 2 like the BCS

Playoff system sucks and all they are going to do is add more.......which means more crap games and blowouts

the original proposal of 8 teams (P5 champs back when the Pac-12 still existed, 1 spot for the best G5 team, and the other two are the highest rated remaining P5 teams) was a much better idea. but instead they're gonna water it down further by eventually going to 16 teams. but more games = more revenue, and more opportunities to gamble.

Ergen (Direct TV) and Buffet (Pilot) could make some significant NIL donations to the football program.
Pilot just committed what is likely a big amount of money to Neyland renovation in exchange for their name on the field and recognition related to Neyland sponsorship. I'm doubtful they'll do much more because I'll bet they promised a lot to get that. Buffet himself doesn't do NIL donations at Nebraska much less anywhere else.

We were just so much slower than they were. I mean, we just looks so slow out there.

Changes need to start at the coaching staff. My thoughts:

OC
DC
OL
WR
DB
LB

I mean, what happened with the explosiveness we had earlier in Huepel’s tenure??? I mean, it seems the more players we have that he recruited to more boring and bland this offense gets.
With ELITE replacements.
No reason The University of Tennessee can’t get top notch coaches.

Tons of disappointment in the locker room from everyone that is invested. I think this is a direct shot at the players. I love it. We saw a lack of effort and want too. Big changes coming, I believe some of these upperclassman may have become stagnant and their lack of effort spread throughout the football team as we saw tonight. No leaders on the field.

Once you make life changing money, you lose that drive.
I think the lack of effort is best shown at WR. We have players not getting open and dropping passes, as well as not blocking for the run. The big question is, lack of talent, lack of effort or lack of coaching. Only two people can answer those questions, the Offensive Coordinator and/or the Head Coach.

What do you think "that is invested" means? Everyone in that locker room is "invested" in the program.

Then we’re screwed
Not necessarily. This team is good, but not elite. So what we're talking about is taking another step, the "next" step, maybe the hardest step. If CJH is to do this, he's going to have be a little more authoritarian. Football ain't a democracy, anyone that's played knows this. This next step involves sacrifice and humans don't do sacrifice if respect and trust aren't thoroughly ingrained in the mix.

two quick points

1) NIL money has to have conditions and performance terms . This is being implemented. Players planning to portal and giving half ass performance need to be processed .
2) Willie Martinez has to go . OU fired him during the Bob stoops days. He has ro be cut loose .

There’s lots of blame to give in a lot of directions, but as already stated, it all falls back to CJH. We don’t have Hooker, Hyatt, etc., but I don’t see the WR’s running wide open or the same type routes at all. The Heupel offense that he was known for doesn’t show itself anymore. Football seems to be getting less enjoyable every year. NIL, the portal creates an “all about me and my money” attitude that means more than team, hard work, loyalty to my school, teammates, and coaches. Playoffs and opt-outs have killed the other bowls. It’s created primadonas.

I'm moving back to East Tennessee this summer and I was looking forward to season tickets. Now I am not so sure.

Credit to Ryan Day and Chip Kelly for the repeated swing passes. We haven't seen that much of that this year. It kept Will Howard mostly in low risk throws and got his rbs in space. It also multiple times meant Pearce had to go wide in the flats to make the stops. Ohio State did the opposite of what they did against Michigan. They learned the lesson. What I want Heupel to answer is the same things Ohio state did in the first half they did in the second. What would he say the second half adjustments were?

Tennessee did not belong in the playoffs and they don't have any championships in their future. They are a middle of the pack program and the SEC bar is raised every year. We are so far behind the top teams, even though we improve, its impossible catch up.
It’s not impossible, it’s a choice. We need to decide as a program which way we’re going to go. Are we going to be expecting an 8-4, 9-3 type season where we go to a bowl down south and have a fun week off from work? Or, do we expect to compete against a team like we saw yesterday and spend the money to get it. But the more we spend, the less margin for error there is. That guy last night that bent us over his knee is on the hot seat. Even after last nights game there still a chance he’ll be let go. It’s a lot like life…..it’s all in what you want
