Clarence Thomas in Hot Water (Alito too!)

Yes, you did ask why BB was getting so much attention for his racist remarks while others didn’t.

Nobody bats an eye when the at least 5 posters I can think of off the top of my head say something offensive. It’s just what they do.

When the “least racist person here” says something blatantly racist - that gets more attention.
I agree. That’s basically #2.

My question was about him getting dogpiled for the hilarious three ring binder thing but then everybody just kind of ignored the guy who said video of Trump talking about ****ing Ivanka didn’t count because Wendy Williams had a mental illness or whatever it was. It was equally dumb, if not equally hilarious.

It was basically the same situation of somebody beclowning themselves to avoid just owning an inconvenient truth or avoid admitting they were wrong. That happens every day without comment.

1) people avoiding “unnecessary” beef with people who share many of their beliefs and who will back them up and support them when they need affirmation.
That is a sign of having an echo chamber.

Vulgar, racially insensitive, emotion-driven comments made by right-wingers are usually ignored, unless me, Septic, turbovol, luther or LG bring attention to it.

Whereas, vulgar, racially insensitive, emotion-driven comments by left-wingers rarely go ignored. It's a numbers game.

Yes. I was agreeing and restating #2, and contrasting it with how he portrays himself.

Yes, the Trump stuff sounds equally ridiculous. I was there for the 3rd party master forgers and ringless 3-ringed binder in that one.

And you’re here to lead the charge against racist comments in the PF? You? Ok…

Some of it is because it is an echo chamber.
Some of it is because people expect you to be better.
Some of it is because you bring it on yourself, just like I do. Surely you understand that, too.

I don't think either of you are leading that charge.
I don’t claim to be. I already said calling out all the overt racism in the PF would be exhausting, and no one does it either.

I do regularly call out nonsense with regards to homosexual Americans, and try and observe the preferences of trans Americans - even though I’m constantly “corrected” for it.

When I'm drunk, I get more antagonistic ... and much less likely to concede a point.

I'll try to let you know when I see any Big Mike comments so you can respond accordingly.

Maybe true, but that doesn't change the fact that few on VN care to comment negatively on Big Mike comments but are quick to claim "but the dems say this" comments when they try to call out a liberal.
Same rules apply to errbody in my book. Bad behavior by others doesn’t excuse bad behavior by me.

Republicans like to believe this, but they are the party of homogeneity for a reason. Their ideology has very little appeal to anyone who isn't Caucasian, Christian and heterosexual ... and that's how they like it.
Meh.
You’re a democrat seeing things through Dem blinders.

Big Mike has a $j#= is easy to remember too. Doesn't carry the same weight around here for some reason.
Your whataboutism is noted it’s been heard.
Either call someone out specifically and I’ll back you up or move on. It doesn’t excuse the bad behavior by others.

I’ll build you a cross so you can climb up and nail yourselves to it.

Some of it is because of stereotypical perception of high moral ground by party affiliation.

Ex: Ds constantly broad brushing Rs as racists (as has occured in this thread recently) which gives those who aren't Ds a platform to call out racism from a D. Also happens when Rs broad brush Ds as immoral/Godless and Ds call out fam values/Jesus when an R poster or their candidate behaves poorly (which happened as recently as yesterday).
