Coach Jumper: This year?

With Tea you can not miss what you never had . Also jamie is no diamond but if she can create more off the bounce that will help. and ppl worried abiut harris but meme did not play her freshman year either and she did ok her soph season

Diamond created off the dribble better but Jamie is much better at timing her movement in conjunction with another player,s movement on the team and being open for a feed or backdoor cut, a roll. or something like that.

BMVol27 per your comment are you implying that most human beings have accepted that they themselves are mediocre OR concerning the team they follow - they are accepting of the team's accomplishment being just mediocre? How they perceive about themselves is not relevant in how they judge.

Most people already have.

It;s times like this that I am glad I am not in the "most" category, often....I kinda dance to my own song.

Final Four with the Fab Four, or it's a wasted year.

((I hate it when that happens..)Slow internet, Thanks Xfinity.)

You can say that again.

That's good enough for other programs it's not good enough for the Lady Vols program... if we start accepting mediocrity we become mediocrity

Mediocre indicates something that is not very good.

There are approximately 350 Division 1 women's basketball programs. No one in the Lady Vol Program is playing for 8th place. From the ground up, they play to be the best.

In a disposable society, we need to be careful using loose phrases to evaluate achievement. We are supposed to be the program's biggest fans.

The Elite 8 is not mediocrity for anyone.

, to a second-year coach or a third-year coach and a new program with a loaded roster... yes, Elite eight is very high expectation. But for the University of Tennessee Lady Vols program and its history, and the fact that the present coach has 35 or 36 years of experience as a assistant coach in the program and five years now as a head coach of the program it's time folks ... it's time to start expecting final four or or or better,, it's time ,,anything less than the final four is mediocrity. And if I were the head coach myself I would expect the same thing to be expected of me.

Focusing on the NCAA tournament at this point is looking too far ahead. The regular season is much more telling than the tournament.

Doing well in the tournament is easier than doing well during the season. Most of the competition is eliminated by other teams in the tourney. Only a few games need to be won to do well. Finishing out of the top 25 for the season is telling of a team's ability. Losing 10 or more games in the season but doing well in the tournament does not make a team elite. Being undefeated or having only 1 or 2 losses during the season and doing well the tournament is what it takes to be considered a great team.

The goal at this point should be doing well in the regular season. It's nonsensical to make bold prediction about the tournament before a single regular season game is played. Concentrate on finishing in the top 25 first.

but then you're a friend of Warlick's, I presume. We've won eight national titles--the last a decade ago. The Elite Eight is not our standard. It's a lowering of our standard--by some--to accommodate the falloff in our program. When we get a great coach again, our standard will be what it should be--national titles.

The "standard" for UT is, and will always be, Final Four or more. It's not My standard, it is the one sat by Pat Summitt.
And it is the one to be measured by.
You don't reach this standard without kicking butt through the season as well. . . You've got to peak at the right time, but you also have to grow throughout the process.

We have a team of MC D AA's already. They are being joined this year by four of the nation's top recruits (Amongst them is a MC D AA or two as well) . . . There has been NOTHING in the news to upset any applecarts. (ALL of the known "sources" from this site re LV BB are quiet at this time) NO distractions.. . . . The staff is all of CHW's choosing or choosing to keep.

If this isn't a recipe for a Final Four team,,.

Warlick said she wanted to increase their speed of play but that was before they lost 3 players... you think she sticks with the original idea and hammers the endurance training this summer or no?
