Coach Jumper: This year?

I watched play for the University of Tennessee for a year!!!!!!!! Sometimes on National Television 📺

Maybe you slept through that season??
I guess I didn't make myself clear. I think you're saying Te'a didn't matter last year because she didn't play.

I'm saying fans were saying Te'a's return would be important for the coming year, but after she went to SC, fans were saying she wouldn't be missed because she didn't play last year. That's, in my opinion, trying to rationalize a bad turn of events into something that is not bad. She will be missed. Having an experienced 10th player on the roster would facilitate practice and she was a highly ranked player.

True, the thing that saves us this season is that we have two highly ranked players who played PG last year in HS.

We'll be fine at PG.

It's SF that concerns me. Can Jaime create enough off the dribble to counter losing DD. Or, maybe one of the Fab 4 may be the best at first-stepping and might take DD's minutes.

Ballers are Ballers

Last year I threaded that DD would be a jumper. (I didn't know she would jump that far though) I also was very forceful in asking for Holly's step away.

I have studied this current program as if I was going to be tested on it.

This is the year folks.

If CHW is to get back in, and stay back in, top four status, it is with this group it will start.

The players returning are seemingly the most coachable of the past year's brood. There are no "extreme personalities" on the floor to manage.

A staff hand chosen, via tenure or replacement, but chosen.

The best recruiting class in a heckuva long time.
Evina Westbrook, 6 foot G/SF, #2 (Hoopgurls 2017 rank) , joins Narred and Russell with home-state ties.
5-7 point guard Anastasia Hayes #7 of Riverdale (Murfreesboro, Tennessee); 6-2 wing Rennia Davis #12 of Ribault (Jacksonville, Florida); and 6-4 center Kasiyahna Kushkituah #57 of St. Francis (Alpharetta, Georgia).

The new assistant's only uncertainty is "what tasks will she focus on". As far as her heart and loyalty, this is unquestioned. She bleeds orange.

There is nothing "outside", that I can see, to get in CHW's path. She truly seems to have everything lined up for a run.

Your thoughts?

Hopefully Bridgett knows some offense and is allowed to coach it.

What was missing last year wasn't offense in the notion of a play or set of plays or a set of motions that the team had to take. what was missing last year was individual skills on both offense and defense. As well as continuity and flow there was no flow the office would get to a certain point and then just died and then we jack up a shot because we had and it was usually under duress

In an ideal world would Russell and Nared be playing less than 30 minutes a game with this current roster?

Until they play Texas they could play 30 minutes or less, but will probably play 35 or more against teams like Texas.

Russell and Nared aren't the curiosity on this team. We know what to expect and what we will get from them. I have little doubts about the newbies either...It's the other returners that are the biggest question marks on this team:

Kourtney Dunbar: Will they ever figure out how to use this very easy to use player?

Meme Jackson: Have they worked with her to up her skill-set THIS summer, or will they just let her run fast and catch up to things? (This one will be personal).

Kamera Harris: The biggest enigma of all....What can she do? She sat n the bench all last year , we now find out if the wait was warranted.

Cheridene Green: ??? One poster said she was a JC AA....To me that pretty closely equates to a McD AA...We'll see.

" I hope KD gets her chance to play,,,not just "appear".

in her career - her pressure was either hit one of the first two 3's or sit.

Harris learning curve was very steep to be effective in the SEC after not averaging 10pg in high school. The game was understandably too fast and complex for her last year. But now a year of practice and a conditioning later what we boarders don't know is how dedicated has she been to use the cliche "get in the gym."

In your estimation, given the confidence you have in the freshman, is what the returning team gave even if none of them improve, enough to get this team back to at least the E8 with the help of the #1 recruiting class in it's first year?

Oh yes.
In fact, I would have E8 as a minimum acceptable with the present setup.

No off-season woes in the last few weeks.
No "extreme personalities" to deal with
A hand picked staff.
Ten healthy players.

If this were any other college in the country. . . A team loaded with this many MC D AA's would be expected to be a final four contender.

It is only with the recent short tourney runs, that it has changed for us.

This is Lady Vol Nation...If anyone on the team or staff has expectations of less than final four, send em home!

I think E8 is a fair goal if they have 10 healthy players.
