Got it. Replaced the women’s golf, track and cross country, rowing (retired) coaches, lost the good soccer coach and promoted the assistant, and extended everyone else. Brought the football Coach with him, of course. Thanks for the info.

And, with DW's upgrades, TN has won the SEC All-Sports trophy the last 2 yrs which is given to the school with the best overall sports program which includes men-womens. You DW haters are in a losing battle here.

You apparently do not understand that the FB program pays for all the other non-profit sports programs at UT, which includes all other sports except men's BB. Neyland stadium draws 90 thousand plus to every home game. That's a lot of $ plus TV money. Upgrading the stadium is just financial sense. Any smart AD recognizes what's important

We have so many threads going on I’m not sure if this is the right place for this or not but..,
I have wondered how this would all have worked out if, instead of fading away and then passing, Pat had had coached a few more years and then retired. I benefited mightily from a mentor and wonder if Holly, Kellie et al wouldn’t have benefited by being able to call Pat or have Pat look at some film etc.. I felt like Kellie would have particularly benefited from Pat’s guidance.
Sadly we’ll never know.
Also there is the high likelihood that Pat would still be coaching so Geno wouldn’t break her records!!! First one coaching until eighty wins!!!

It sure wouldn't have hurt to have Coach around for advice. If that could have happened, it's possible that Holly would still be running the show.

The LVs alone this past year had 5 games surpass the 1 million average viewership mark

I think DW may see a bull market in Wbb and wants to capitalize before the peak.

So even if the LVs are in the red it’s way less than any other sport barely behind men’s basketball.

My lord I pray for the days of 18k wbb fans in the stands I think we can might as well be optimistic in this new era

Get the leadership right it’ll take care of that. Whoever is next, needs to promote like Pearl did when he got here. Be visible, listen to fans, interact, ask for fans to come and be part. They have to events in the community, dont only ask for people to come to your events to support NIL. Goes both ways.

Saw Bruce in the summer he arrived at Bi-Lo parking lot with his first wife. My wife and I met my mother in-law there to take our daughter for the night. I said something like welcome to Knoxville Coach and buckled my daughter in. He came to the car introduced himself and asked to give him a chance. His wife spoke to my wife. Little things like that daily build a following before games start.

I think Coach Kellie may have known her fate when we saw the NC State game. Jewel Spear got a steal, but the ref awarded TO to NC St before the steal counted, and Coach Kellie pleaded with the refs. She even had an emotional look on her face trying to plead with the refs. She also was very emotional after the game in conference post game.

The refs weren't changing that call on NCSt home court, even if Kellie put them in a headlock.

And she wasn't pleading, she was completely exasperated.

You missed the earlier post that said DW spent $400,000 million dollars on the stadium renovation. I was having some fun with that post. Cause I do think $400,000x1,000,000 is approximately a bazillion.

I feel sure that Kellie has been fixing lunches for Jackson and Kylie, taking care of her horses, and depressurizing with Jon. Takes a little while to absorb the shock and get used to a new normal, especially after being in a pressure cooker job that one loves. Big, sudden changes like kids moving away, loss of close relatives, retirement, losing a dream job coupled with some amount of public flogging, all take time to process regardless of bank account figures.

She'll be fine.

Nobody hates White--he's fine, maybe even good. But he's gotten FAR too much credit for program successes he's had nothing to do with. We've won the all-sports trophy thanks in large part to coaches he didn't hire---Barnes, Kredich, Weekly, Vitello, Woodruff: All those programs (basketball, swimming, softball, baseball, men's tennis are national Top Ten programs) have enjoyed considerable success the last few years, and yet everybody wants to pretend that White is the reason. White had little or nothing to do with their success. They're just good/very good coaches, and most have been so for quite a number of years. A lot of the White fanfare has to do with Hueupel having the one big season. Let's see if he can duplicate the feat.

The part that hurts the most, malice aside, is that she's not wrong on the things you mentioned. That's what everyone here hopes will change with this hire.
