Also what im trying to say is that you see kirk ferentz what he can do with much less talent and quit fighting it. it is indeed much much less talent. But what if he were the head coach of georgia or LSU or someother SEC school? yea scary. I will now rest my case I have ESPN and many of analysts and journalists backing me up. Oh and Scott pioli is backing me up. Those patriots have been pretty good havent they? I now rest my case as kirk ferentz is indeed one of the best coaches in college football. signing out but oh hey i would still like that 100 dollars![]()
Which Head Coach Would Scott Pioli Bring with Him to theChiefs? - Arrowhead Pride
Scott Pioli clearly wanted ferentz as the head coach i cant believe you didnt hear any of this whent the chiefs were looking for a new head coach. But once again ferentz declined just like he did many other time with NFL teams. He loves iowa and he will be staying there. I will try to find more proof but it seems very clear that pioli wanted him so i will be taking my 100 dollars now![]()
Rich Rod turned an awful program at WVU into a title contender and he's doing the same thing at Michigan. Which 1-AA team did he lose to? And please don't say Appalachian State.
Also, Davis won 8 games at UNC last year, and certainly has them moving in the right direction. You don't build teams like he did at Miami without being an outstanding coach. Way to early to say he isn't good anymore.
If he was good, he'd be able to get some talent in. He can't. Because he, like Iowa, is a fraud.oh yeah you are right a 9 game winning streak in not impressive at all okay i get it geez its so easy to get one of those now a days. And recruits are allowed to go there of course but it just does not even remotely compare to the experience of football in the SEC. and the location is......iowa. yea nuff said bout that. It seems all these recruits interested in the vols right now just eat up the gameday experience and iowa just cant offer that. and once again i will be taking my 100 dollars![]()
I hate to break it to you, but Rich Rod wasn't the coach of that Michigan team. Solid argument. That would indeed be Appalachian State. Don't even try to start with Appalachian State's resume, either. Regardless of how good they are or what they have accomplished, a 1-AA team is still a 1-AA team. Hate to put it that way, but it is just reality.
He took a Miami program on probation and made them outstanding. He's also got UNC in the right direction, but it isn't an easy process, because they've always been so terrible. Recruiting is a part of coaching in college football. People need to understand that.My response to the thing about Butch Davis...He was a brilliant RECRUITER. I am not sure I put him in the upper echelon of COACHES, though. Just my opinion on that.

I disagree, but I can understand what you are saying. Do you still stand by what you said about Rich Rod?
He's only been coaching a few years and he got two guys like that already... It may not be too difficult for him.I feel really stupid about the Appalachian State thing now that I looked it up (my bad). BUT... I am not convinced that he can win without players like Pat White or Tate Forcier on his roster. He won't always get guys like that. It's those teams without once in a generation athletes and what they accomplish that define coaches.
