College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Yeah. I wouldn’t mind a compromise either where P5 conference tournaments get the auto-bid and non-P5 it’s the regular season champion. If you are a 1-bid league, I just don’t think your entire season should hinge on the conference tournament.
It’s the conferences choice. No one is making them put their best team at risk by having a tournament to select their NCAAT representative. They’d rather have more money in their pocket from a tournament, then guarantee their best team is in the NCAAT.

For those who think conference tournaments doesn't matter. Go tell these one bid conferences that, 3 great games today.

Apples and oranges. Of course they matter to one bid leagues, it's the entire point of their season squeezed into 3-4 days and basically making the regular season almost useless. And imo that's stupid.

They should do that but let's be honest, if the one bid league's conference tournament wasn't an NCAAT bid then they probably have much less incentive to play it. Some lower conference teams might still enjoy an NIT bid but even then I don't know how excited they would be.

I think an NIT bid would be appealing enough. You get to likely go to a P5 school's homecourt and have an outside shot at Madison Square Garden if you make the final four of the NIT. For a small school, that has to be enticing still. I just don't like the idea of regular season's having their value diminished, and I'm sorry but if you are 10-23 Sacremento State, you have no business being in the NCAAT anyway.

If they have health issues then I think Kansas ends up slipping to a 4 seed and Kentucky takes their 3 seed.
