Tim Tebow represents all that is good about college sports. He's a great football player, a humble guy, a fearless athlete, and a humanitarian.

You won't catch me complimenting anything that wears Orange and Blue very often, but here's my props. :hi:

I agree

Thats what I'm talking about. Hell of a competitor and has his priorities straight. If he gets killed on the next level, he'll have plenty of options in the real world. Gator hater here but you cant hate the player nor the man. Unless you are just a hater to be a hater.

agreed.:good!: I love how he always gives thanks to Jesus.

I do hope he decides to leave and go pro though...:p

He's a good player and a good sport and all really (except when he runs up the score on your team)....but not a big fan of his religion into sports

exactly. i have no problems with him as a person and what he does off the field. that is great that he has that drive to act on what he believes. but i am not from a deeply religious background and just because he is a very devout christian that we should elevate him above others in the game. yes he is better than most in the sports news, but he should not be praised constantly for being a good human being. i just don't want to be preached to and that should not make me wrong for not sharing his beliefs.

Yea we need to keep God out of sports and the school system. Maybe that will keep guns out of the hands of college athletes and grammer schoolers. Sorry if this post needs to go to the Politics or somewhere else. :hi:

I completely agree. I just wish he would have played in the right shade of orange.

sorry to crash the tea party.... but..... This tebow crap is getting out of hand. OK hes a really good player and person, we get the point. Do we really have to discuss how he uses rusty cissors to circumsize kids, i mean cmon enough is enough. Im sure verne lundquist and gary daniels will miss tebow when he goes to the nfl and they can't announce his games anymore. Im so tired of tebow this tebow that, ya I know he is the next chuck norris, If I could go a day without hearing the name Tim Tebow, my life would be complete. For the last time, everyone freakin shut up about tebow, its a freaking manlove sausagefest whenever tewbows name comes up my gosh for crying out loud.

Yeah this does need to go in another forum, it's fine.

But good parents who deal with their kids, listen to them, try to help them, teach them right from wrong, and are there from them rather than being there for themselves do this to...alot.

I like the religion in sports for the hope no one gets hurt and such yes. I dont like when it gets intertwined though and players start claiming that God chose them to do well or God chose their team to be better than the other team that day....that kinda bothers me

And guys, please don't keep going on about this (my stuff) in this thread. It's really not a topic for this part of the board, so please dont go on about it. appreciate it. thanks

i have in fact played the game all my life but never made it to the college game, but what i was getting at was he had easy direct access to that area of the world to do such said work. it is easy to speak praise of your team, but i can probably guarantee that the entire florida team wasn't at urban's table on a regular basis. maybe they were, but he was still elevated above the rest of his team and i don't agree with that. you may not like my post, but that is how i feel as a former athlete. i played on the same team as gerald riggs and he was put up on a pedestal just like tebow and i didn't like it then and i don't like to see that now. he was not the only reason the team was successful when he was there and tebow in no way is the only reason why the gators are successful. as for the mission work i don't have the time or financial means to go around the world, so all i was saying was that he had an easy way that made it more conveniant.

Gerald Riggs is not anywhere near the level of Tebow. Sounds like you just have a problem with anyone being more successful than you. There are plenty of people in mission work without money, most in fact. Convenience is not something that matters to them. Tebow has always given credit to his teammates to my knowledge. Try to admire those who rise above ordinary rather than tear them down.

I hope Tim Teblow goes to the NFL and gets raped by every defensive linemen in the league.

I simultaneously agree with both of these statements. Being a sports fan is inherently irrational.

that is not what i was getting at, but i will try to further explain. gerald is not all that and we all know this, but in high school he was the superman of chattanooga football and the entire state of tn for that matter. he was elevated above the rest of the team. so in comparison i was saying that tebow has been elevated not only above his team but far beyond most everybody else in all of college football. i am not a superstar football player and never will be and i moved on to bigger and better things with no regrets. you sir do not know me from adam and i do not know you from adam. so to say that i am upset about him being at his level of success and i not, is not something that you can judge. in no way am i trying to belittle his missionary work, but i have had to do that work in the place that i live, and cannot afford the time or the money to go in a foreign place somewhere around the world to do such work. i have a home and a family to pay for and do not have a family who has direct access to allow me to go circumsize children in a foreign land. so i would appreciate it if you got off my back and were not the judge of me or what i have done in the past in terms of civil service. i applaud tebow for what he does, but i don't like the fact that people prop him up over others who may do things under the radar.

so go pick on someone else.

i would have to say the main reason he had the opportunity to do mission work over seas was beacuse his family had direct access to do so. not many have the means to do that. as for tebag, i will never have my head up his anus like most of the sports world. yes he is a good player, but if he was really humble imo he could have said that the rest of his team was just as responsible for their success. i don't think they should put him on a pedestal and give him awards before looking at all of the other great individuals who play the game. he is not the only guy who does good things in his free time. go preach all you want tebag, but i could care less what he has to say.
I'll 2nd that...don't know what it is about these vol fans with their heads up tebows @ss...

Actually when Riggs was in chatt town he was thrown around every bit as much as Tebow on a local level. I would not have wanted to play in the shadow of Riggs either... luckily I played for Ooltewah when they sucked lol.

He has great sportsmanship too. Did you see him taunt the Oklahoma player?
As the board's resident OU apologist, I'll simply say this: Harris got exactly what he deserved. If you talk, you better back it up. He didn't.
